Whether you agree with the truth or not, I love how he drops this right when d wade is like 2 games away from hanging it up... So now the focus is on pierce and not d wade lol

Yeah, Pierce probably would have won those championships with Shaq & LeBron and maybe some others with LeBron.

I don't think at his peak he was better but he did have a longer prime.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

The NBA can be a league of haves and have nots.

If MIA Shaq has went to BOS instead of MIA - right when Paul was in his prime - that would've been a sight to behold..

Heck - if KG hadn't hurt his knee in Utah in 08 Paul would've had two banners.....

Prime KG and Prime Paul? Would both of them been ready to commit to sacrificing? I'd bet yes - KG has ALWAYS been like that....was RARELY a take-over scorer even in Minny....his famous interview with the Legendary John Thompson revealed that - the one right before his arrival in BOS...he always seemingly placed TEAM above himself.....

Prime Ray Ray? As good as Ray was I doubt that Paul or KG would've gotten in his way, lol....Prime Ray - with THOSE TWO weapons - could've carried BOS on most nights....

DWade may have had a slight edge on PP34 athletically....very slight. Paul flushed on opponents regularly but always seemed to have deceptive hops.

And as for Wade's Defensive Team awards? Well deserved but Paul could've had a few, too - ESPECIALLY from 2011-12 where he even garnered LeBron James' respect as one of his best defenders. I always questioned the methodology for choosing Defensive Teams. Look at our OWN MARCUS SMART, lol - especially after he just wrapped up Bogdan from Indy something fierce....

Will HE make a Defensive Team? FINALLY?? He certainly deserves it.

But YES even Michelle Beadle from ESPN helped to make a compelling argument for Pierce vs DWade. They are REALLY not that far apart as one may think.

PP had high IQ .  Could play organized team coached ball with others at a high level.

Wade is like Lebron ,  super gifted athletic bodies and lift .  Non coachable street ball .  Thats why they got along so well.  Thick as thieves.  Lebum is the ultimate diva tho. ....CP3 runs a close 2 nd

Pierce comes off as a bit insecure with that. Let your friends do your bidding bro.

I think that Wade gets the edge, but it's a lot slighter than a lot of NBA fans would think.  The numbers are remarkably close, and both were huge in the playoffs.

It’s closer than people think. Wade usually gets the benefit of the doubt because he is a media darling. That being said, I will agree with Pierce about the Shaq/Lebron thing. He’s 100% right there and that is a failure of the Cs management. The best players Pierce ever played with prior to 32 year old KG/Allen was.....(looks twice)... Antoine Walker and Eric Williams????

if KG doesnt get injured in 2009 or Perkins doesnt tear his acl in the finals who knows how many championships Pierce has?

Other than that magical 2008 season we had some bad luck with injuries that derailed our run with the big 3

I'm not sure why Pierce feels the need to bring this up, but I do think he's right about this.

Wade was never the primary scorer for his team. Pierce shouldered more responsibility and did not have as much help as Wade did.

Agree with all of the above. Point is, Pierce didn’t get a chance to play with the KG type talent until he was 30. The one year he had an MVP type caliber KG, they won a title. The next year they were steam rolling teams until KG hurt his knee. Year three they lost in the finals with a Gino’s KG and no Perk.

PP's correct - not sure he should have said it but he's correct.

The Truth.

Always thought Wade (and his career) was vastly overrated.

Did 2004-2010 not happen? Averages of 27/7/5/2/1 with one ring early on (a Finals series where DWade averaged 35PPG )

I think it's definitely close, but c'mon. Saying Wade was never the primary scorer for his team is a flat out lie
