If Kyrie re-signs here and plays at an all-star level, will fans “rally around the family” and appreciate him for his strengths, rather than criticizing him for his faults?  Or will people brutally ride him, when he deserves it (this playoff series, lousy leadership) and when he doesn’t (pretty much his play on the court the entire regular season and first round).

I think Kyrie is a guy that needs to be embraced. Can our fans show him the love that he needs?

he is the best player on our team. get him AD or some other help. The people crying incessantly about him are preposterous especially the ones wanting him to walk. foolishness. we have rebuilt he last 5 years we are not blowing up anything. we will retool one way or the other and changes will be made. I am not really worried about any players we have other than say rozier who is gone. I need brad to wake up and demand discipline and roles and an attack the basket philosophy. we had enough chucking jumpers with doc rivers albeit doc woulda handled this team LIGHT years better than brad.

KYRIE! KYRIE! KYRIE!

WE STAND WITH YOU BROTHER!

ALWAYS HAVE!

I love watching him play. He is a special talent. But he was a liability on defense most of the season and esp this last round.

I will give him praise when he deserves it....he had some great games to watch. I just dislike the off court garbage and attitude.

I do think if he get an AD in here things will be better.

he had a bad round like everyone else. brad had a terrible year. kyrie did not, not last year either. it all starts at the top. brad needs to change or leave. his assistants all need to be shown the door.

Where has Wyc inferred that he doesn't want Kyrie back?

F%#$ Kyrie! Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!!! A complete and utter failure in every sense. I actually believe this team wins more games and might even go further without him on the team this year. 100% cancer. Addition by subtraction. If I'm Danny I don't even present an offer. The best case scenario is that he signs with the Lakers where he can continue as one of the most hated Lakers ever. They would completely flounder even with Kyrie and in no way would even even sniff the finals.
Aaaand here's proof of my first post in this thread.

I'm glad you're using the evidence of Kyrie and LeBron not working in the past to base your predictions off of ::)

I just want him gone man. Just gone. Kyrie can go away. I don't care where he goes but I will always root against him. If you ask me would I rather have Davis and Kyrie or just Davis...my answer is just Davis and build the team around him.

No Question about his talent, but if he stays I would like him to adjust his game and play with CBS system.
This season CBS and all other players had to adjust to play with Kyrie instead of the other way around.

When will people understand without Kyrie, there is no AD.

Unless we get someone like Beal.

I think there's a contingent of C's fans that will never like him no matter what happens.

This is not true

He was on a good path in year 1

Did we ever hear him talk BS?

It was after what happened with a Kyrieless Celts squad that made the ecf

He started to act up

There were posters who railed against Kyrie from the moment the trade was announced.

yup

I'm not sure the premise here is 100% accurate. Fans rode him hard when he played bad in part because he brought in on himself, but when he played well I don't think there was nearly as much criticism as you make it seem. Did some people always want him out? Sure. But I think that was a clear minority. Even then some of that WAS his own fault for the terrible leadership he displayed this year.

My vocal issues are much less about Kyrie and much more so about the fans on this blog just flat out overrating him and believing him to better than he is.  Kyrie is who he is, but he isn't a franchise player and if the fanbase recognizes that, then I will be less vocal about it.

It'd be nice if Brad actually had a system. Our offense was pretty much pass-pass-pass-chuck a 3 mixed in with a few dribble handoffs. We needed more offball movement, more backdoor cuts, more pick & rolls with Kyrie/Al and Gordon/Al. I wish he'd take the same inventiveness he has for ATO's and apply that to his half court sets.

So, I think if things are going good, it will probably be smooth sailing with Kyrie. Without the looming threat of FA to force the media to constantly question him, Kyrie will probably be the good soldier. Normally when you are hitching yourself to a super star, you want someone who will be tough when the season is in troubled waters. However, this last season is about as bad as it can get when it comes to dysfunction. If kyrie signs a multi year deal, DA is trading for a second true star. Kyrie will fall in line.

That second star NEEDs to be a legit 1A though. I'm not convinced Kyrie is the best player on a championship level squad.

The worst is that he's clearly aware he's doing something wrong. Time and again in a post-match interview he's said something along the lines of "I need to do/be better", yet our offence has stayed the exact same all year. Ugh.

Hope he can go back to being a star next season

So you're basing it on body language?  No actual reports or quotes from Wyc.  Okay.

I have no idea if he's coming back or not but I'm also not conjuring up stuff that never has been said either.
