For the anti-Kyrie contingent..

I know his tenure here as not been perfect off the court. He's 26, learning how to deal with the press, he's been in Cleveland his whole career and the Boston media is much more intense.

DON'T FORGET, we got him to win championships. He is one of the most clutch players in the league and we still haven't seen him play in the playoffs. Before you go full blown "get rid of Kyrie", lets wait for the playoffs and see how far he can take this team. I think he can win back a lot of fans with a great post season.

ALSO, if he was 100% happy in Boston I think its safe to say we would have a GREAT chance of adding Kevin Durant. They clearly want to play together next year. Before we run Kyrie out of town with our negativity (and KD as an extension) lets give him a chance in the playoffs!

Give him some room to make mistakes, learn and grow. Instead of piling on every mistake.

KD would 100% be an option IF Kyrie was happy here. But Kyrie, right now, is not happy - so you're correct now.

If Kyrie was happy, resigned and told KD how great it is to be a Celtic, I feel like we would be the favorite if he left GS. If Kyrie leaves and goes to NY then they would be the favorites.

A few reasons..

KD and Kyrie are best friends and want to play together
DA has been trying to get KD since he was in college. He watched KD vs Oden with KDs parents.
Boston was reported to be his 2nd option to GS
KD was a Bird/Cs fan growing up
If he leaves GS he would want nothing more than to win more chips. Stevens and DA would give him confidence that we could put the right pieces together and be a serious contender every year.

No. Kyrie's happiness has nothing to do with KD being an option here. It has more to do with actually getting KD inked to a deal to Boston. Boston will not have cap space to sign anyone worth more than the MLE. The only way to pull it off is with a sign and trade with Golden State, if the Dubs management would even do it to facilitate the making of a possible dynasty elsewhere.

I just don't see GSW doing a sign and trade of KD to Boston for Hayward.

Putting all of the logistics aside (which are the primary reason why KD to Boston won't happen), can we also put to bed the notion that any two players who have a relationship off the court are bound to want to team up?  What examples are there of this stuff actually happening?  Even when Miami teamed up, I'm not  sure Lebron and Wade were as close as what we see their relationship as being today.  Meanwhile, we never got the banana boat team we thought was bound to happen.  The Kyrie-Butler relationship was overblown by the media.  These days almost all of the players are chummy.
