This is the direct result of what happens when you let a subpar team get on a run by not recognizing when **** isn't working, Brad. You let that inept second unit give up the lead and let them get going, and they haven't stopped since.

Ya man, I think he could have called as many timeouts as he wanted and it wouldn't have made any difference at all. The team went to half, came out and has looked exactly the same as it did in the 2nd, only its the starters playing bad. At some point theres nothing a coach can do if the guys on the floor cant guard anything.

I mean, if that's the case, that's an even more dam[n]ing indictment against the coaching staff. That they can't even get their guys to play with energy and intensity and not get embarrassed by a bottom team in the league is a serious indictment of their effectiveness.

And it's not wholly about timeouts, or even rotations. It's deeper than that. It's a complete failure to hold players responsible for half-arse efforts and poor decision-making. The players just don't respond to the coaching staff, because they aren't held accountable and do not respect them.

Agreed! Brad should play some of the end of the bench guys that are willing to play hard.

And pacers keep winning.
We are 5th and staying there.
I still have hopes for playoffs, but regular season has been a huge disappointment.
( and if u ask me it started in the pre season games)

I have no positive expectations for the playoffs. This team has no fight or emotion...just like their coach. In the NBA part of the coach's job is to ignite. It's not only about teaching.

  • GOT IT!!!
Kyrie is looking more disassociated by each passing game. Team can play with anyone when they want to but they truly are lazy. After the West coast trip the 3rd seed will probably be history.

No team ball, no emotion. Steven's has lost this team, they tune him out.

Yep. This is what it looks like to me.

Not sure that replacing Stevens would be the right move, as this is probably a lost season at this point anyways (given that this was a championship-or-bust season from the get-go). But if we go all-in on AD this summer to pair him with  Kyrie, I think we have to seriously look at whether Brad is the best coach for that team, as he has yet to prove that he can manage that level of talent effectively.

While I harp at times on Brown's BBIQ and decision-making, at least he's almost always playing hard. Wish he'd take most of Rozier's minutes moving forward, as I think he's best as a big-2 anyways.

at least Jaylen's come in with some energy.  hoping Rozier's entry to the game doesn't derail it

I personally could care less whether he stays or goes but if Kyrie does decide to go elsewhere next season, you can probably point to nights like tonight - way too many of them - as being the reason.  I can't even watch it - must be worse if you actually have to participate in this meltdown.

We're trying to lose this game apparently.  3 missed free throws in a row.

MM has really cooled off this month.

Like it when JB and Hayward are together, but Rozier almost always ruins it.

I wish someone in the local media would have the balls to ask Brad in the post game why Rozier is still playing.
