Anthony Davis injures shoulder, Russell Westbrook extends triple-double streak, Pelicans beat Thunder

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Anthony Davis grimaced and didn't move his left arm as he walked off the court at halftime.

Whether those were Davis' final moments in a Pelicans uniform — or whether he even plays in this weekend's All-Star Game — remains to be seen.

Julius Randle capped a 33-point, 11-rebound performance with three clutch baskets in the final three minutes, Jrue Holiday scored 32 points and effectively defended Paul George, and New Orleans beat Oklahoma City 131-122 on Thursday night despite losing Davis to a shoulder injury.

Davis, who has asked to be traded, left the Smoothie King Center with his agent, Rich Paul, during the second half to get an MRI exam, the results of which were expected by Friday.

According to reports, it's just a shoulder contusion.

If the Pels are not careful, AD's trade value could drop.

Really hurt I think.  Gentry didn't seem very happy that he left the building after the injury.

^This. I watched the game and I saw NO shoulder injury. He was playing fine up until halftime. Then the news came out so I think it's so they didn't need to play him in the 2nd half. What is key is if he plays in the All Star game. If he does then I don't see how they can use this excuse to not play him. It must be very awkward for him to play at home and get booed. Well he made his bed now he has to sleep in it. Thank Rich Paul & LeBron young man.

How good has Randle been this season.

I am thinking he would be a great addition to the team at a fraction of the cost.

Rozier for randle s&trades.

So Rich Paul & AD's dad were at the game last night. Is this some kind of master plan by Paul to drive down the value of AD in order for LA to offer the best deal in the off season? Just cannot trust anything about that slime bag Paul.

Doesn't Randle have a player option? No way does he stick around for $8m if so

Is Paul so tone-deaf that he cannot see how bad he looks?  Just don't go to the game.

It's been a rough week for Davis. He also criticized his teammates for a "lack of interest" following the Pelicans 118-88 loss to the Magic last Tuesday. Here's what the Captain had to say,

"You can't score 3 points (1-9 FG in 24 mins) and then call everybody else out," Paul Pierce said regarding AD on ESPN on Feb 13, 2019.

I think so as well. He wouldn't have gotten an MRI otherwise, methinks.

does the crowd know what he looks like?  if so, surprised he wasn't harassed out of the building or at least getting showed with cokes as people walked behind him (if in the main seating)

So, Rich Paul pulls him out of the locker room during the game to go get examined and it's all reported by Ramona Shelburne, the LA Lakers shill?

This is getting uglier and uglier

Rich Paul has no power without LeBron James.
