If a player who considers himself one of the best players, if not the best player, in the league can't have good games against Al Horford, then Philly has a Joel Embiid problem.

Against the Aircraft Carrier known as Joel Embiid I'm SO GLAD we have our Mk42 Anti-Carrier Weapon

Make no mistake about it Joel Embiid is the Total Package. But Big Al plays well against him.

So glad he's on our team and I hope he is for the next few years.

Al Horford is great.  There's a reason his teams have had a lot of success in the playoffs.  He doesn't show up big in the box score, at least not that often, but his effect on the game is huge.  He's just never had an answer for LeBron James.

Luckily, Horford doesn't have to worry about meeting LeBron in the playoffs anymore.

Glad to see the national pub for what I've been saying on here for awhile (and mostly getting killed for it), Horford is a terrible matchup for Embiid and Horford is the reason Embiid struggles against the C's (not Baynes like so many on here contended).  Horford is one of the few players in the league that is both quick enough and strong enough to guard Embiid without much help.  That is a huge factor in all the Sixer/Celtic games the last two seasons.

Yeah, because you’re wrong. In fact, Mannix and Scal were talking about Baynes and both agreed that not only is Baynes a great defender on Embiid, especially how he pushes him out of spots, but that he just might be the the BEST Embiid defender in the entire league.

So, yeah, everyone disagrees with you because you’re wrong. You have repeatedly said that Baynes does a poor job on Embiid. That said, Horford is a great Embiid defender too. So it’s great to have 2 guys to throw at him.

I agree that Baynes is a great Embiid defender because of his size and strength.

But I think what Horford does differently is he makes Embiid WORK defensively. And that wears him down so much, making him even less effective on the offensive end (taking three’s). You see they throw it in the post to Al and Embiid is running on fumes dripping wit sweat within minutes.

C’s, behind Horford AND Baynes, know how to tire him out and make him inefficient. Yes he may have a flashy dunk or block or celebrate a three, but we wear him down. And he knows it.
