It was an important game in the sense that you know both came to play.

They didn’t take us lightly with Kyrie our and put up a dud like we often see. They were right there the entire time and we came up with big plays.

And most importantly was the play of Gordon. I know he had the bad pass that could have been costly, but that trey in the corner to take the lead was his biggest shot as a Celtic. This game really has to boost his confidence going forward. And once he gets right, this is a different team.

Unfortunately we are going to probably have to live with these up-and-down stretches. They are still figuring themselves out as a team (and quite a few players as individuals), but I do believe by the playoffs everyone will check their egos at the door and play within the system. If we do that effectively, we will be in the Finals.

LOL so funny over at the libertyballers game thread.  I read through most of it and it is well worth the time.

“Celtics just have a way superior basketball IQ
Embiid always freezes against this team”

“Superior iq is just coded language for beter coaches.”

Hahah

I think we have a team that is only engaged to play against good teams.   Against other teams this team coasts.

I think there is definitely an aspect of playing down to our opposition

Just wondering.

We will be back to panicking as soon as we lose another game  ;D

nope. DEPENDS HOW BRAD COACHES AND IF WE RESPOND with any discipline

It's ironic that Philly fans can't understand why we want to get rid of Brad though. I guess we would still take Brad over Brett Brown?

It's because people that want Brad fired are way, way overreacting. This team isn't playing to 100% of their potential, but Brad is not the problem (or, at least, not the only problem).

Firing him and bringing in a worse coach (no, there isnt a better coach available. Pop is not walking through that door) wouldn't solve anything (except making people realise that Brad wasn't the problem)
I'm bitter.

Everyone has to step up.  I think they will come playoff time

I mean, this just kind of highlighted our main issue - we don't give consistent effort and intensity. We've shown that we're as good as anyone in the league when engaged, but we just don't consistently give that type of effort and intensity.

Perhaps this won't matter in the playoffs, when we seemingly should be engaged every game against top competition. But regardless, that's a terrible habit that is not indicative of a true championship-level team.

Watch, we'll probably get blown out by the Pistons at home tomorrow now  ;D

Teams turn it on and off all the time.

People are still gonna panic, make ridiculous assertions, and propose insane trade ideas.

It's the CelticsStrong way.

I agree that we still got to bring the effort tonight and win, no excuses. Losing tonight would just reinforce how inconsistent and frustrating we've been this season.
