Put this in one of the other 543809fiftyleven64399 Kyrie threads.

Oh sorry I didn’t realize this wasn’t a Celtics forum and Kyrie doesn’t play for them. You certainly didn’t have to click and read did you ?

Was curious to see if it offered a semblance of anything new or a remotely original thought, but it's just a regurgitation of everything we typically see when the C's lose and Kyrie plays.

Maybe you should be original instead of just another keyboard punk. I don’t come in here and read every single post every day. I’m Celtics fan that occasionally comes here and posts my thoughts. Could care less if it’s a thought that other people have already expressed but pat yourself on the back for letting me know.

That's what the "search" feature is for.

Sorry pal, I’m not going to search over all the threads to appease you. Again just don’t click.

In direct response to the title question: very good. He's only improved during his time here, and in 2019 (barring the LAL game, BBRef hasn't updated yet) he is averaging 26-8-5-2 on 55/41/85 shooting splits. Those are better numbers than those Rose put up in his MVP season, and they're comparable to Steph Curry's (less points on slightly worse - but still elite - efficiency, one less rebound, but better playmaking and defence).

The problem isn't Kyrie. It's mostly how our other guys have played. Lots of our guys have flaws that they haven't worked on.
Terry Rozier is a ball-stopping chucker. Tatum is a weak defender and passer. Brown is very inconsistent. Hayward is still not 100%. Baynes and Theis have both dealt with injuries and form slumps. Al has been on a minutes restriction due to injury.
There are many factors.

Those guys have played worse with Irving - his style doesn't make teammates better.
Kyrie isn't responsible for their weird mindset shifts when he is and isn't playing. That's entirely on them. He can only make them so good when they're bricking shots.

The only guy who gets noticeably worse when he plays with Kyrie is Terry. Brown and Tatum have proved over the last month or so that they can both comfortably score 15-20 alongside him.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

If you're not going to use search (which is feature, you don't have to manually do it), then expect responses and opinions that aren't perfectly aligned with yours.

I am surprised no one is casting any criticism on Stevens.

I know he's not the one playing but at the same time, I think it's illogical to think a coach doesn't at least have some type of effect on the team's performance or lack thereof.

Maybe Stevens just isn't cut out to coach a championship caliber team.

Food for thought.

He's good at coaching the Cinderella teams but when he's got a real contending team, he's in over his head.

Its just funny that this stuff disappears when we win. Then it's crickets in a ghost town.

I don’t need opinions perfectly aligned with mine it’s called a discussion. But thanks for looking out for me.
