Straight forward question.

After seeing what Harris got as an expiring contract with 1 potential juicy Miami pick along with another first rounder I think we could possibly get a similar package if we combine both players (especially with Rozier’s RFA status and if a team buys into starter Rozier verses bench Rozier).

I realize this could possibly hurt our playoff run, but here is my reasoning.  With a potential Davis trade this summer the Kings (playoff push and not falling back) and Clippers pick (after Harris trade could fall out of playoffs and potentially a 2nd round pick down the road) are losing value by the day.  Hoping on the Grizzlies pick being gold is still a risk.  If we had more diverse set of picks going into this summer along with our young players I would feel even better about landing Davis.

It would be very difficult almost impossible to include either player in a deal for Davis because you can’t sign and trade a player and combine with other players in a big trade.  Maybe a separate transaction where you take back an unwanted salary (Moore), but that’s unlikely.

It might not hurt as much as we think for this season. Brown (after injuries and initial slump), and Hayward are coming, and probably deserving of more minutes.  Morris as great as he had been is showing signs off coming back to earth, and has never shot this well in his career.  Even keeping Morris I’m thinking its getting closer to where we might want insert Hayward in the starting lineup. I also don’t recallMorris being much of a factor in last year’s playoffs.  I’d also like to see mixed in more traditional 2 big lineups out of the bigs Horford, Baynes, and Theis.  Theis has mostly played really well when given playing time, but when everyone is healthy is edged out of the rotation.

We all know about bench Rozier, I actually like Wanamaker as a backup, Smart can always slide over to PG, and there is the buyout market/overseas Larkin?).

It’s risky but I might pull the trigger in this hypothetical trade.  What about you?

Yes, let's signal that we're giving up on seriously competing in the playoffs this year right before our franchise player becomes a free agent.

I'd trade Rozier for a backup point who is more reliable though, e.g. Pat Beverley.

No.

This team doesn't need more draft capital.  And certainly not at the expense of worsening team depth as they head towards the playoffs.

I would love that too. Beverely knows his role and thrives in it.

I would've loved to have traded for Bullock and would've been fine giving up Yabu and a 2nd rd pick for him. Bullock has really good size (6'7") and is a career 40% 3PT shooter. Since joining the Pistons he has consistently shot well. His last 4 seasons he's posted 3PT shooting percentages of:
41.5, 38.4, 44.5, and 38.8.

I don’t believe this at all.  Rozier is underwhelming as a backup PG.  Morris is eating into minutes for Hayward and Brown who are playing much better lately (Theis too who I would like to see more of).  Once Morris goes through a cold stretch as he typically does in the past I bet some posters will be calling for his head (he didn’t much of anything in last year’s playoffs).

Each passing day it seems like only the Grizzlies pick is appealing in a trade for Davis.  Maybe it’s enough along with Tatum, and other smaller pieces but not a guarantee.

Morris and Rozier for Vucevic is a better option.

But Wannamaker has proven he can play some backup, and there is still Smart here as well.

I would love that deal. Before the Harris trade it seemed unlikely that the Clippers would move Beverley, but if they aren't looking to make the playoffs than he's probably on the table. His contract is expiring, but we would have Bird Rights to re-sign him
I'm bitter.

As another poster mentioned in a different topic, what about trying to trade for Josh Jackson by using Rozier as the center piece. Obviously, Danny would have to add another player to match salaries. Jackson could be another young player with potential to include in a trade for Davis. It also helps that Jackson would get Danny closer to matching salaries in such a deal.

I like Rozier, but he doesn’t create offense on the second unit. Brad could easily move Smart back to the second unit, who is better at running the offense. Or just have Hayward be a point forward, if the plan is to have him play the rest of the season off of the bench. Plus, I get the impression that Rozier is more concerned about playing for his next contract.

Rozier, definitely! I have been calling for this for a good month now.  Morris, no!  They need him to make a run.

Rozier I'd move. Morris no. Morris is a starter and part of the team's identity. He is effective in limited minutes or big ones unlike Rozier. I would not want a pick but a power foward prospect from some team. I like Isaac from the Magic

Rozier, Yab, and a pick might get it done.

I think these two are more valuable to us this year than what we could get for them.  I'd rather take a shot with them and not get the championship than try to trade for potentially high picks.

I’d trade Terry for a 1st round pick, but doubt we could get that. We may need more draft capital in light of the negative impact the Harris trade could have on our Sac pick and Clips pick.
