This is what I sent my good pal LarBrd on the trade:
Bad move by the Sixers. Honestly, it doesn't concern me at all. They went after the wrong Clipper. Beverley is the type of player they actually need. Harris is putting up 16 shots a game and "coincidentally" his 3pt % increased since he became the #1 option in LAC and his volume increased. It's not the easiest thing in the world to be effective and efficient on low volume. Prior to the LAC experience he was a low 30's 3PT shooter.
Harris year-by-year 3pt shooting...
26.1, 31.5, 25.4, 36.4, 33.5, 34.7
Now the Clippers seasons...
41.1 and 43.4
I'm telling you it's a lot easier to have a shooting rhythm when you're taking nearly 20 shots a game. Standing in a corner on catch and shoots while taking 8 shots per game is a different story entirely.
So now the problem...
Who sacrifices shots/touches? Embiid who's already complained? Simmons who sucks off-the-ball? Moody Butler in a contract year? Redick in a contract year? Harris in a contract year?
And still they do NOT have a guy that can cover opposing 1's. Irving will absolutely thrash their D.
The Sixers on paper are good, but they lack role playing defenders that know and embrace their role. Beverley, Bullock (who I like that the Lakers got), Covington, etc.
