If this article is correct (including one quote from a trustworthy Steve Bulpett who covers the team), it looks like Kyrie is remaining a Celtic, at least through the rest of the season. Certainly bodes well for our playoff chances

https://nba.nbcsports.com/2019/02/05/report-celtics-not-trading-kyrie-irving/

Hope this puts to bed anymore speculation that the Celts would "consider dealing him instead of losing him for nothing."

I do feel the deeper of a playoff run the Celts make, the chances of Kyrie re-signing increase. Which is why I do hope Danny makes some type of move (even if it's a marginal one) to help the team in some capacity (like getting a center or a pure shooting guard.)

Tommy point - I agree with you that the deeper we go the more likely he is to stay.  Kyrie talks about how he feels at the moment (I wish he would just say "I'm done talking about this.").  Ye, he's moved away from staying, but if we make it to the finals he probably moves right back.

It would be insane to do otherwise.

He forced his way out of Cleveland after they explored trading him.

There was no way Boston was even going to make speculative calls, cannot risk that relationship before FA.

Big mistake. Dude is walking away.

What has he said or done that leads you to believe that?

Big mistake. Dude is walking away.

First post registered today claiming Kyrie is walking away? Hmmm...  ::) ::) ::) ::)

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

Big mistake. Dude is walking away.

I'll deduce from your handle that you are from the West Coast, possibly a Laker or Warrior fan (or more than likely, both).

You scared of the impending Celtic dynasty, my friend?

That's exactly what he said, isn't it?

Indeed.
I tried to explain this to a group of Knicks fans, but that didn't end well  ;D.
They wanted to crucify me for bringing perpective to the idea that it isn't a sure thing that Kyrie signs in New York.

I lived in Ohio back when Irving was in Cleveland when Lebron left. Kyrie is one of the most unpredictable characters out there in the NBA. I can recount the number of times this guy went back and forth with his wants and needs. Ask any basketball fan from Ohio and they will agree with me on this one.
