TP LarBrd. Excellent lengthy write-ups. The vocal anti-Kyrie group will probably not read them all, or only react to one little line here and there, but you're doing good work!

So much misinformation getting spread around right now.  I plan on recording a podcast with Celticsclay in the morning if the sky doesn't fall in the meantime.

Well a kid DID just cry after thinking Kyrie was giving him his jersey, so maybe those who think we have the devil in #11 are right!

Ainge would be furious for including a second-round pick for that Kyrie hold-up deal with the Cavs, if Kyrie leaves Boston.

I think people forget that Kyrie waved a trade kicker that was worth more than $5.8 million to come to Boston. So basically, $5.8 million of Kyrie's money is invested in the Celtics. Seems like a lot of money to give up if you aren't seriously invested in remaining with the Celtics. I am sure he figured he would make it up by signing a 5 year max contract and not a 4 year deal.

He waived his trade kicker because he wanted out of Cleveland, how is that investment in Boston. That is an investment he made for himself.
He could have gotten out of Cleveland without waving his trade kicker. He waived it for Boston because it was a desired option and a possible long term landing spot for a future with titles in it. That is an investment in Boston for him to succeed.

That is $5.8 million. You don't pass up on $5.8 million to get out of a location. You pass on gobs of money like that because you can go someplace you think is great for you long term and a place you can make up that cash by being there long term, to get a fifth year max and to further your brand.

Irving was very happy that he had an opportunity to play in Boston. The reason Boston wasn't on his initial list was because that it seemed farfetched. Cleveland trading their All Star PG to their main rivals? Who would ever think that could happen? Irving certainly didn't. So I'm sure Irving is going to stay in Boston unless something crazy happens.

That's because he wanted out of LeBron Land.

Now he's in Celtic Land and he can't stand it (The pressure, the culture, the leadership role, the youth, the depth and ultra talented team) so he's falling back to what made him a "jerk" to LeBron and being Kyrie.

I mean if you want to literally compete for a championship every year there is no place that isn't willing to do anything than Boston.

LeBron said he is only in it for Championship so what does he do? He goes to a rebuilding Lakers team?

Davis says he cares about Legacy over money/wants to contend every year so he wants to go out West and team up with an aging LeBron with no depth and all the young studs traded away?

Sure they can try and sign a 3rd star (or can they?) but unless it's either KD or Klay you're not going to get out of the West dealing with the Warriors every year.

Everyone was hating on KD for jumping ship TO Golden State but he did what he was suppose to and that's to win a Championship....now he's got two and maybe a 3rd and low and behold he doesn't want anymore Championships....he wants the Knicks and HIS own team (apparently) so basically every star lies.

Yeah because that Miami 2nd rounder for 2020 is going to be a real gem.

Larbrd33 is there a story behind Zack Lowe following you on Twitter?
I had like 3 followers at the time, because I had almost no tweets.  I still have very few.  I've been trying to get more into it... ( @LarBrd33 if anyone wants to follow )  ...

Zach probably accidentally followed me... but I know it happened right after my Ball Hog Gloves parody started trending a little:  https://youtu.be/5BG_jxjg3Jc  (it had 35,000 views on streamable before I re-uploaded it to the YouTube channel I'm building out).

Zach will probably unfollow me at some point, but if I'm ever arrested I plan on saying, "How can you arrest me?  Do you know who I am?  Zach Lowe once followed me on twitter!"

I was having a conversation with some random guy on twitter recently and the guy flat-out shamed me for only having 96 followers as if my opinions weren't valid, because of how few followers I had.  I responded:  "It should be noted that's in 240 tweets - which puts my Per-36 tweet-to-follower ratio at 14.4 - which dwarfs legends like @dangercart (per-36 of 6.2), and @HebertofRiffs (per-36 of 0.9). I just need the tweets, man #Per36".  The dude responded by blocking me.  I'm still a little puzzled by twitter.

More often than not, my previous bad takes look reasonable in retrospect... usually people can't even remember what my bad takes were, they just remember disagreeing with me.   The podcast I did with Eddie20 was pretty great.  We spent an hour and a half going through all of my prior bad takes.  Some of them were still bad... but at least I had a chance to explain my reasoning and better understand his point of view.  Really glad I did that:  https://youtu.be/PQ-Yz4nalbc

Some of my recent bad takes:

- Jaylen Brown could be moved to the bench and have his stats dip this year

- Gordon Hayward could take 12-18 months to get fully  healthy

- Joel Embiid can return from his bonegraft (which Durant and Brook Lopez also had) and develop into a superstar level player

- Ben Simmons will be an all-star

- Jayson Tatum will be a better prospect than Jaylen Brown

- The Kings be better than expected and play out of the bottom 5

... I mean... all of that stuff got me a ton of heat at the time.

Some of the classic bad takes covered in that podcast

- Stauskas, McLemore, Nerlens Noel, Anthony Bennett, Jahlil Okafor, Hinkie, Biyombo, etc

I still think Danny should try to trade Gordon Hayward before the trade deadline. I've mentioned dealing him and 2 future first rounders to Chicago for Lopez and Parker. Lopez is an expiring contract (and can give us some size for the playoff run) and would rather have a 20 million dollar Jabari Parker coming off the bench then a 30 million Hayward.

Also, Parker's salary can be used in the summer as filler to an Anthony Davis trade (or any kind of trade) and either way we get out of Hayward's contract.

It also means Jaylen Brown gets more minutes to showcase himself. Throw in in a couple first rounders (not the Griz, Clips or Kings pick) to sweeten the pot.

For the Bulls, they're not going anywhere any time soon, and by the time Hayward's deal is close to running up, perhaps they'll start getting good again which matches their timeline and they perhaps deal his salary.

It's okay to admit the Hayward signing was a bad one and I could care less what kind of relationship he has with Stevens.

I feel dealing Hayward will just open up a logjam in the roster.

This is a panic proposal.

Lol... Okafor is ballin.  Still, I wonder if his career would have been any different had he been moved to Boston in that rookie season offer we made.  I wonder how differently his development might have been.  Granted, his slow-footed physical traits might make it hard for him to ever adapt in any alt-universe scenario, but we've seen lesser offensive talents develop range with proper focus from the coaching staff.   Still, we can safely say it was silly to want Okafor and Danny should be embarrassed for making multiple offers for him (as should I to a lesser extent for supporting the idea at the time).  Lol.

Kinda like my D'Angelo Russell take ... I took the shocking stance that his career wasn't over because of his snapchatting fiasco.   Congrats on making the all-star team, D'Angelo.  :)
