Is the WC not filled with enough stars , their mindset should be simular to the Spurs thinking . WHY build up the teams that are gonna keep me out of the playoffs ? The Lakers especially, because once they get started they can stay dominant for a LONG time .

Those that don't think Ainge would trade Hayward because of optics and Hayward's relationship with CBS are nuts. If he can, he will.

Now I am not sure how much GH can even fetch but he is certainly not off limits.

This could very easily be construed as teams conspiring against the Lakers.  Especially if the GM's are talking to each other and telling each other not to do business with them (or make them pay a higher price).

Not if Zion or Simmons are on the table.
Besides, if you have to move Smart, Brown is a better third fiddle to Irving/Davis as they are ball dominant score first players.  Brown can impact a game defensively and score off the ball. Tatum needs the ball.

One thing is for certain...a lot of teams do not want or will not deal with the Lakers. I think Rich Paul is really the GM behind the scenes there and other GMs see through their BS.

If this is Ainge's line of thought, he isn't wrong. A big 3 of AD, Kyrie and Tatum is utterly amazing. We could literally fill out the roster with good supporting players, and we are one of the best teams every year for 7-8 years barring injury.  It just won't happen. Tatum will be the centerpiece if we make it past the trade deadline.

Smart has so much more value for a good team than a bad team. Really really really hope we don't move him. A favorable S+T of fellow Rich Paul client Morris might help fill in salary.

I think Ainge can get over on this deal. If AD is only willing to sign with Lakers, this hurts the Lakers in negotiations.

If teams call the Pelicans and only half offers because AD only wants to go to LA then the Pelicans lose alot of negotiating power. The Lakers will not offer all their players and just wait it out. Ainge could just say we will do a rental but I can only do Brown and 2 premium picks. That still beats any other offer. I think the Pelicans take it. Offers will only get worse as time goes on.

It would be great if Ainge can hold firm keeping Tatum nabbing Davis just like he did with Rondo in the KG trade, but I think it’s unlikely.

It’s too bad the Kings pick won’t be top 5 and have much better value in a trade(unless we get lucky lottery night).
