More further proof that Marcus Smart is the heart and soul of this team. He guards the best perimeter scorer, makes timely decisions, averaging career high in SPG, 3P%, and is the perfect backcourt partner for Kyrie, (who loves Smart by the way.)

Since Smart has started hitting threes, he has become much, much more valuable.

He's always been 'valuable,' it's pretty sad he doesn't fit your narrative, and maybe it just takes more mental continuity to actually enjoy and analyze the game more without having a love infatuation every time Rozier gets mentioned in a thread.

We won the conference title and made it within one game of the Finals with Rozier starting.

We don't need Kyrie.

Smart with a league average 3 point shot is a top 10 SG in the league.

You could argue even higher when it comes to impacting winning.  He is truly a "Superstar" on the defensive end of the court.  The improved 3 point shot is an absolute game changer for his overall value.

I couldn't be more happy for Marcus.  If anything, the financial security seems to be helping his offensive game.  He's easily my favorite Celtic since the recent Big Three era.

Smart may never win a DPOY, but there's few players that have the impact he does on that end.  If he really has turned the corner on offense, I'd wager he'll make at least 1 ASG appearance in his career.

I do also like that Smart and Kyrie seem to have a good chemistry on the court.  They play well off each other.

This has been an underrated narrative this year, mainly because of our struggles. Smart was a plus contributor when he was maybe the worst shooter in the league. As an average shooter he's not far from All-Star level value.

I love Jaylen but I really hope he stays on the bench, Smart is just too useful alongside Kyrie.

Brown seems quite comfortable coming off the bench; win win.

TP.

It will be a travesty if he does not make first team all defense this year. The guy is a stud.

If Smart doesn't get All-Defense this year, it's a robbery, plain and simple.

I was just looking at Brown's numbers - he's gotten better every month and his overall per-36 is now almost identical to last year's. The important exception is that he's taking fewer threes and shooting a lower percentage but shooting nearly 40% last year was probably the fluke there. He's doing really well in his bench role.

So I completely dogged marcus for his first two years.  I changed my tune after we beat the rocket's last year and have stayed on the bandwagon ever since.

Don't remember being so wrong about a guy before.
