We don't need a big. We are deep there

Agent Mark Bartelstein is working with the Suns to waive guard Wayne Ellington and allow him to join a playoff contender, league sources tell ESPN. Ellington is arriving with Tyler Johnson from Miami in the trade for Ryan Anderson.

? ? ? ?  Deep in mediocrity after Horford.  I am not sure that any buyout will help with that but I think we could improve the team a lot with some additional big talent.

A big is a bigger need than another wing (barring someone going out in a trade).

Is DeAndre Jordan also a buyout possibility?

I was hoping so but he's played for New York.  My guess is that he'd have been bought out by now.

It would make sense to at least wait for the trade deadline in case there is any chance for a trade.

It’s also worth keeping his Bird rights in case they strike out in free agency and they can get an asset facilitating a deal to a team with no cap space.

Can Ellington defend at a high level? I know he can shoot but how's his defense?

It's more important the Sixers don't get Ellington.

Sixers will be harder to beat if they add a shooter like Ellington.

Hopefully the Celts can convince Ellington to come to Boston instead of Philly.

C’s are NOT deep in the frontcourt and need another big, no doubt.  Baynes is injured again, Wiliams is very young, Theis is okay but not great, Yabu doesn’t seem to be NBA material.  Oh, and Horford is 32 and needs more rest these days, partly because of an ongoing injury.  We need another big for now and for the future.

Backup point guard for the second unit and a big ball center. I like Baynes but he's hurt a lot. If he's not available for a playoff series we're in trouble, especially against Philly and the Bucks.

Oh man getting Kantor to anchor the second unit scoring would be a steal. That would be too good to true.

I looked it up, and it appears we still have our taxpayer mid level exception of 5.3 million dollars that could give us a leg up on buyout candidates.  It also looks like we have a 1.3 trade exception from the Nader trade to give us felixibity if we do something small.

If we can fill 2 spots Wanamaker and Bird could be gone if they use those roster spots. I would make Yabu inactive and let Williams start getting more valuable minutes.

A big with James Haren-level defense?  He can get points and rebounds, but I think he's a tough sell for Danny and Brad

All it takes is one guy to cause your defense to break down and he's the one guy.  Great at what he's good at, but I don't think he's the right fit.

I'd be looking at Lopez

Not really.

Baynes seems to get injured every time he blinks. Theis is a decent back-up but if we can get a starting quality center and take some pressure of Al by moving him to PF, then it's a win-win.
