Celtics should 'tank' the rest of the season....kinda

It just does not look like GSW can be beat this year. The only team with a chance to beat them, apart from themselves, is the Celtics and that chance is not looking good right now. Not the way Gordon Hayward is playing. So, it is seems that the Celtics need more to compete with GSW and other budding teams. The answer is Anthony Davis, but this only works if you do not give up too much for him. That is why the Celtics have to consider 'tanking' this season. Not a fill-fledged tank for draft position, but a tank for trade positioning.

The Celtics cannot afford to showcase Tatum otherwise Pelicans will hold out for him in any AD trade. The Celtics must showcase Brown and Rozier so that they can be sent out in the trade for AD instead of Tatum. If Brown and Rozier continue to underwhelm and Tatum continues to play well, the Celtics may lose Tatum in an AD deal and this will be a major setback, IMHO!!

I did say the Celtics are about the only team that can beat GSW, but you got to sit Hayward. Without Hayward's wasted minutes yesterday Celtics probably win the game.

Ridiculous post on so many levels.  I agree that we would be massive underdogs against the warriors.  But it’s the journey.  Playing in the finals with a punchers chance would be awesome. 

As for Tatum, if course you trade him for Davis.  I don’t even blink.  Besides, without Tatum we don’t have enough.  Brown is basically a combination of Rickey Davis and Jeff green.  No other players are valuable enough.  The picks will be middling too.

As for rozier, I just have to laugh.

You just cannot have your 30 million a year player go 0-5 and two points in over 20 minutes. Not if you are trying to win. If you are not trying to win then you might as well engage in some strategic/targeted tanking. Tanking has become part of the NBA you know.

You cannot have EMPTY minutes against GSW. GSW wasnt even at full strength, they are still bringing on their all-star center.  Brad is a HUGE part why Cs lost to a team that was just going through the motions. Not a minute of time to TL when GSW went big. Just dont make Kyrie leave out of frustration.
