I'm beginning to think that all the Celtics will get out of Irving every season is around 60-65 games.  Seems injury prone to me.

Should the Celtics resign him to a big contract if he can't play 70+ games this year?

This will be his 5th game missed out of 43 games(counting tonight)

38/ 43= 88%

88% x 82 games= around 72 games...... He has been pretty healthy this year except for nearly getting his eye poked out which really shouldnt count as being injury proned

Maybe.

Honestly though, I wouldn't be surprised if Kyrie is "injured" so that the Celtics can showcase some of their guys to raise their value before the trade deadline.

I legitimately believe someone's getting traded/put in the doghouse to shorten the rotation. My money is on Rozier.

Not so bad. The team is more fun to watch when Kyrie isn't playing.

I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I tend to skip games this season that he doesn't play in.

2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Haha - I'm in between :) I watch whatever I can, but prefer to see him play!

Yeah I’ve skipped a chunk of games when they’ve been at full strength

Such a long season

What did he moss games for this year?

Death in family, scratched eye, flu?

Cannot control those.

It's interesting how beating below .500 teams like Dallas and Minny go from "expected" to "good wins" when he doesn't play. Nevermind the good wins we've had against Toronto, Philly, and Indiana with him in the lineup.

I def will watch no matter if Kyrie is in the lineup or not.  I like watching the kids try to figure it out themselves, but I still don't think we are BETTER without Kyrie.

Lol. This + your “ego is more important to Kyrie than winning” take from the other thread are pretty funny
