Jaylen Brown doesn't need criticism

I believe not playing up to his expectations,his injuries and missing shots have got in his head.The constant praise of Jason and his potential stardom has to have some subliminal effect.The confusion of Haywards return then add in the niggling injuries not to minimize effects Plantar Fascitis
Jaylen is so smart and wants to be the best he can but he is his own worst enemy as he criticizes his own efforts.
A few good games and that shot falling from outside is all that is necessary.
Massimino left me with me, when i had a slump coming back from a severe ankle sprain, that threw my shot off-so maybe, this is the beginning again for Jaylen.

I think Jaylen and the team would have been  fine and better off had brad stevens not forced hayward into the starting line up.

by forcing hayward into the starting line up stevens killed the chemistry of the team that earned the right this season to pick up where they left off. if hayward was ready to go to start the season I could see making a case for forcing him into the starting line up. but he wasn't and all the chemistry and momentum we had is gone.

and in the process stevens has made guys like rozier, brown and tatum take a step back and regress. instead of them building off what they did last yr. they look like young guys that have to re-learn what they already know.

all because he had to force hayward into the starting line up. to me it seems like an awful lot to give up for a guy that still doesn't look like he's ready to play.

oh and now it seems we need to find a replacement for horford because I think we're going to find out his career is closer to being over than it is to continuing.

I think jaylen is a guy that is going to tend to do better when the team around him is stable and organized, and there's not so much onus on him to carry a burden and be in the spotlight if he has a rough game.

Starting Irving, Hayward, and Ojeleye together makes us a very poor defensive team.

This is his job, and he needs to do better.   Something happened last night and we saw glimpses of ole Good Jaylen.

Guys are waiting around waiting for someone else to take over, but our problem is we need some guys to step up and quit worrying about other people's feeling.


Bottom line this is a man's game and when you play for the Boston Celtics you're expected to contribute to winning.   I don't buy this ra ra horse crap.   Play like men, want to win and take responsibility for your actions.   

What has hurt Jaylen most is that he does not play to his strengths.   He is a slasher, not a deadeye shooter.   He should slash more and that way he would be more open for those jumpers.   Both Jaylen and Rozier are at their best when they attack off the break.   I almost thought he was afraid to dunk this year but we saw a monster take it to the hole last night and he should do it more.

If a guy can't take the pressure, then perhaps we should look elsewhere and move him.    We are tying to win championships, not boost egos.   Now I hope the light goes off and he starts playing to his strengths.

Maybe Kobe told him all the wrong things to sabotage the Celtics.

One thing we really don’t know is the extent of his recent injuries plantar fasciitis reported in early November, and in late November back spasms.  Last night he looked like the Jaylen of last year.   Maybe he is starting to feel much better health wise as those type of injuries can really affect such an explosive athlete.

Same thing with Hayward.  Overcoming such a horrific injury, and missing a year it’s jusy going to take time but we’ve seen better play from him recently.

Missing 2 keys along with Morris really hurts us. 

Getting back to Jaylen he shot 40% from 3 last year, and is way under that percentage this year so far.  I believe in his shooting and it will get closer to what is was last year.

Jaylen has a confidence issue. His confidence wains from minute to minute on the floor right during the game. From being sky high after a nice play to almost looking depressed after a missed free throw.

One minute he's making muscles after a sparkling dunk then minutes later he's hanging his head because he missed an open 15-foot shot. His body English is horrible much of the time.

Jaylen is athletic as heck... but stiff, mechanical, with little rhythm.

I agree with the organized and stable part but I think he’s better when he has more of an onus to carry a bigger load and he seems to do much better in the spotlight.  That ridiculous flexing at Giannis on national tv was an example of Jalen loving to have a big role and receive attention in the spotlight.

It's been quite obvious that Brown has struggled with adapting to his changed role on the team this year, similarly to Rozier. So for that he absolutely does deserve criticism. It's on them to adapt, and if they can't then that's a problem that will eventually need to be rectified.

I've zero faith Rozier will turn things around, I'm much more hopeful Brown will be able to.

I'm in the camp that thinks Jaylen just overthinks things. It's why he's so bad at FT's even though he's been (mostly) a good shooter. It's too much time to sit there and think about it. It's also why he's been pretty good in the clutch, because there's less time to think. When he's clear-headed and reacting, he's terrific.

Jaylen's problem is simple but people don't see it or don't want to see it.  He's not that good.  He's more athlete than basketball player  Inconsistent shot, still weak handle, average finisher, low basketball IQ, and no real offensive moves.
