I mean I actually love it, BUT like many have seemingly expressed the "latest discussions" and other tabs being on the left feels really weird. We've spent years with it being on the right side.

Is there a way to minimize the top banner (of the Celtics banners) in threads? It seems to take up a lot of the space at the top.

Currently it collapses about halfway (to the height of the logo). This will probably stay in hopes of placing a sponsor there, but there may be a way to reclaim more space esp. on mobile.

The right hand bar (not left!) probably will also become collapsible on mobile, so you can really get 100% width inside of a thread.

Doesn't look promising on the smaller screen issue. I do agree, but understand that SB is no longer supporting the forums and the format needed to change for sponsors (so this site can stay running).

If there is anyway to minimize the top banner and possibly move sponsors into the column on the left (that used to be on the right), I think it would be a lot more pleasing to view. Beggars can't be choosers, though, and we really do appreciate everything you are doing to keep the site running, byennie! Thank you for all of your efforts!

Curious: for those concerned about real estate given to the banner -- are you on desktop, mobile, or both?

There is definitely some need to showcase that real estate, but we're also trying to take baby steps and listen to feedback along the way. The specific challenge right now is that the forums often open topics scrolled all the way down, so while I'd like to let the banner scroll all the way off the page, it's problematic if it gets lost entirely from your session.

Thanks for all the feedback. While we are taking some chances in order to get things "up to snuff" on a razor thin budget, I want the community to be involved as much as possible. My pledge is a high level of transparency. Obviously I can't put every detail in public threads, but I definitely read and consider everything here. I also promise not to ever drastically break the format. Layouts may change, reasonable features added (working on nicer avatars!), etc, etc, but the basic format of a topical forum is here to stay.

Byennie, first of all thank you again for all of the work you have done so that we could keep this wonderful forum we all love...we are all very lucky to have had someone like you with the knowledge and interest to make this happen.

It is good hear that the menu change back to the right side is going to happen but even if it doesn’t I think it is a minor thing we can deal with and get used to.  It is not some huge issue that would even slow me down from coming here.

Also, I am on my iPhone more often than not and as I scroll down the banner goes away.  If I scroll back up it does take up a bit of real estate and is awkward but then I just scroll back and it goes away.

I am using a desktop. The banner on top takes up nearly 25% of my reading area. It makes reading the posts more difficult.

Would it be possible to move the banner to the side? So that it doesn't interfere with the reading area? Beneath the latest discussions stuff I mean.

weird at home the discussions are still on the right, but at work they are on the left.  Why is it in 2 different locations?  I do prefer the discussion list on the right side with the posts on the left.  The banner is large, but ok.
