Kyrie gets hurt with three minutes to go in the game, and the outcome already decided.

Why is he still in the game?

I noticed that Brad left starters out late in blowout games last year as well.

Well, the bench didn’t quite put the game away.  As I recall, they out kyrie in the game when NY made their last run.  I mean, the bench still probbalu would have won the game but why take a chance.

Knicks were only down 12 and everyone was tightening up a little bit worrying about a run. They had hung around for the last 8 minutes against the bench and seemed to be starting to get into rhythm. CBS put Kyrie in and Kyrie hit a mid-range jumpshot and then drove and dish for a made 3. That 17 point lead was the biggest of the night until that point. Shortly after, Kyrie got hurt.

I was thinking the same and I was surprised to see him brought back in late.  I don't think he should've been out there.

If he didn't put Kyrie in and the lead got smaller, Brad wouldve been killed by the same posters for pulling them too early. It's a no win with these guys.

I say this as no joke but I think it's To help kyrie pad his stats. I feel like coaches know some players care about their stats..  That's the only explanation. Or maybe as practice running plays in real game situations for film sessions

I think KI was brought back in to ensure a solid win.  Let's hope his injury is not too bad.

I think so too. Same goes for Rozier who makes extra minutes when the Celtics have a big lead.

Just curious, did you watch the game? There was no stat padding. Kyrie needed to come in to put the game away.

Depends if your definition of decided is a 12 pt lead with 7 mins to go.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Decided is 20 at the 4 minute mark.

But thanks for playing.

so ur saying kyrie was inserted when we were up 20? I want to play too.

BTW there are many times when kyrie could have padded stats this season and he hasn't taken the opportunity. The deeeeep bench was playing like crap, cbs reinserted kyrie and then he put the game away, the team was playing well with kyrie so he just left him out there. getting those guys some minutes with an actual good player could help us later in the season seeing how we always end up with many injuries. we hope they wont but injuries always happen.

Playing what?

It was a 12 point lead with 7:30 to go in the 4th and a minute later Kyrie and Al were subbed back in. As for the 20 points with 4 to go, maybe by that time Brad was ready to take him out but didn't want to burn a timeout. Then he tweaked his shoulder. It's half of one two fourths of the other.

I agree that starters need to be preserved but it's easy to second guess in hindsight.
