I remember when Amir Johnson had plantar fasciitis and he was borderline useless for a long stretch of games. I know that when I had it (basically one year in each foot), it made long distance running a real chore, but at least the impact was far less than that of a professional bball player.
But I think people are totally overrating Jaylen's recent struggles. In his last 4 games before his injury, he was in double digits in each one and shot a combined 19/32. His 3-pt stroke seems to have left him some and if people want to harp on that, then feel free, but I personally thought that Jaylen started to do more of what makes him lethal in these last few games. If he can get back to focusing on corner 3s, then I think that 3-pt% will even out a bit.
If not for his injury, this odd long stretch of no games, and Hayward's one blow-up performance, people may be talking more about Jaylen turning the corner...or they may continue to talk about how he blew it in game 7 of the playoffs last year (even though Rozier and Smart blew it much more).
