Hayward should get substantially better, but even at this level he can be a useful player.

I think he's starting to get useful now finally. Just not as useful as he could, and will, eventually be.

Likewise I think it's unrealistic for him to expect to replicate his stat line in Utah where he was the primary scoring option. In fact I'm expecting our top seven to all regress in terms of total and average stats. Gordon's not going to average 20ppg, not if we want the likes of Tatum, Brown, Morris, Rozier at al to all improve as well (not unless we end up averaging 150ppg  ;D). Plus Gordon's not unselfish almost to a fault and he has a lot more players to pass to with the Celtics than he did in Utah.

The way our team is turning out we'll probably have Kyrie around the 20 point mark and Tatum, Hayward, Horford, Morris, Brown and Rozier between 10-15 ppg. There's just too many options for any one of them to have a truly outstanding total/average stat line. But they can, and should, certainly all become more efficient. That's how I'm going to measure their improvement. Unfortunately ten years from now a lot of people will just look at their year on year stat lines and say, wow what happened in 2018-19. But that's the price to pay to have a lot of quality teammates.

Absolutely agree.  Evan Turner was another guy who put up some scoring stats playing for garbage teams but didn't have nearly as much to offer when the games mattered.

Hopefully Hayward can be as durable as ET going forward.

GH not playing in Dallas tonite. Soreness in ankle injured last year.

I see the parallel.

Initially I thought it was Ante Žižić.  :D

This is one of the weakest, most poorly informed troll attempts I have ever seen on this board.

Going to absolutely LOVE revisiting this thread in near future.

The Alpha Dog that lead Utah to the 2nd round will be back soon...and when he does Kyrie and this team will breathe a sigh of relief.

I think he's starting to get his legs under him. his shooting is looking better. He went 4-7 last night. and had 19points against the Knicks. Come January I expect he will look closer to himself.

Didn't he lead Utah to a second round sweep?

True.

It was also the furthest that Utah had advanced as of late.

I doubt that Utah will replicate that same success they had last year. And if they happen to meet LeBron and Playoff Rondo in the 1st round this year expect an LA upset.

Glass half FULL, for me. Glass half EMPTY for some.

How so friend?  Turner and Hayward both got handed franchises as young players and while both proved capable of putting up meaningless stats on non-competitive teams they struggled to recreate that production on competitive teams.

I cannot believe that you are grading Gordon Hayward in the NOW.....

How about you come back and grade him (and this TEAM) in a couple of months? Better yet - see where GH (and the TEAM) is by March or April.

I have a feeling that GH (and this TEAM) will be like the snowball pushed down a snowy mountain.....
