I think he's starting to get useful now finally. Just not as useful as he could, and will, eventually be.
Likewise I think it's unrealistic for him to expect to replicate his stat line in Utah where he was the primary scoring option. In fact I'm expecting our top seven to all regress in terms of total and average stats. Gordon's not going to average 20ppg, not if we want the likes of Tatum, Brown, Morris, Rozier at al to all improve as well (not unless we end up averaging 150ppg

). Plus Gordon's not unselfish almost to a fault and he has a lot more players to pass to with the Celtics than he did in Utah.
The way our team is turning out we'll probably have Kyrie around the 20 point mark and Tatum, Hayward, Horford, Morris, Brown and Rozier between 10-15 ppg. There's just too many options for any one of them to have a truly outstanding total/average stat line. But they can, and should, certainly all become more efficient. That's how I'm going to measure their improvement. Unfortunately ten years from now a lot of people will just look at their year on year stat lines and say, wow what happened in 2018-19. But that's the price to pay to have a lot of quality teammates.
