Options
1) Build around Kyrie and Hayward and to satisfy the rest is irrelevant. Build a team to protect their weaknesses and cater to their offensive trigger happy ways. Trade Horford , Rozier and one of Brown or Tatum. Suggestions - A legit defensive big anchor (like a Draymond Green). A legit 3 and D player (Beal or Ariza for example). 6th man (scoring 6th man like a Louis Williams and a glue off the bench player like Olynyk). Players that understand and stick to their defined roles
2) Run with the squad that made huge noise in the playoffs last season. Tatum, Brown, Smart, Rozier, Horford. Trade Irving for a ton. Bring Hayward off the bench
There is a huge disconnect with the team right now because you can't undo what has been done. Which is Rozier, Brown, Tatum fast tracked big time last season. But this is suppose to be Irving and Haywards team. We got all alphas and nobody willing to take care of the details. And you can't blame anybody because thats who they really are.
Irving is trying to take on the role of being the top dog at the moment but the others look disengaged. On offense disengaged resulting in no energy/synergy at the defensive end.
Option 2 would also maximize CBS capabilities vs option 1.
This team is nothing like last seasons team (cater to Kyrie needs) nor will it bounce back like that Miami team that started 9-8 but made it to the finals (their big three played different position/roles). This team just has too many alpha/score 1st mentality type players ......with Kyrie the king of score 1st mentality...is only fueling the selfishness. It's not Kyrie fault either.... Danny just has to choose 1 or 2
Due to age (future) and contract certainty I would choose option 2
