Game Notes The Celtics come home to take on the Chicago Bulls after a disappointing 5 game road where Boston went 1-4. After their last game and loss on the trip, Brad Stevens blamed himself for the poor trip, even going on to saying the Celtics aren't a well coached team right now. He also said the players haven't played with the urgency they need to play at for a whole game, just when they get down by 20. Marcus Smart let into the players after the Portland game saying everyone has to play better with more energy. We will see if the Celtics can right the ship against the Bulls.
Chicago comes into the game pretty beat up with 2 starters and 2 other rotation players out with injury. The Bulls are currently the 4th worst offensive team and the 5th worst defensive team in the NBA. They are also the 3rd worst rebounding team in the league.
The Bulls are led by Zach Levine scoring 27.1 points per game, good for 5th in the league. After Levine the next best scorer on the team is Jabari Parker at 14.8 points per game. Without front court players, Lauri Markkanen and Bobby Portis, rookie Wendell Carter Jr., is the teams best rebounder at 7.9 rebounds per game. The rest of the team doesn't get any more than 6.6 rebounds per game.
The Celtics have the advantage in the matchups at most positions and have a much better bench than Chicago. Except for veteran Robin Lopez, who is coming off the bench for Chicago, the rest of the Bulls have 5 years experience or less. If Jaylen Brown can contain Zach Levine and the Celtics finally put together 48 minutes of quality basketball, this game should be be a blowout game. But if the Celtic players continue their shooting slump and don't play with the consistent aggressiveness that Coach Stevens is looking for, this could be a very close game.
