A firm timetable on Kevin Love's return from injury is not expected before Monday or Tuesday but among the options Cleveland is considering, league sources say, is a longer-term period of rest for Love as his deals with persistent foot soreness

Love missed most of Cleveland's exhibition season and is still dealing with the foot issue, so an extended absence is a possibility unless the Cavaliers can determine a speedier treatment course

Sounds like they are open to shutting him down and tanking.

don't they owe a protected pick to miami?

To Atlanta, top 10 protected for 2019 and 2020, then becomes a 2nd

I am really broken hearted.
He probably is too with just 15 mil$ he is about to receive without doing anything.

There's not even much to burn. Kevin Love on a huge contract and old Korver. They aren't trading Sexton and they have a bunch of really bad contracts....

Like anybody thought he would last anyway ....LOl
he was somebody LeBron could boss around
He was a stool pigeon for Lebron Ball .....friend of Lebron , willing to submit totally for the Lebron Game Plan .

Attention !  !, !,   Luke Walton ......LEAVE NOW !!! .......if you try and actually coach ...you will be cannon fodder for old LeWhiner .

Decide now if you want to be a real coach or a yes man.

They should have let him go this summer, but I can see why you would want to give him a chance post-Lebron, but he really is a terrible coach.  I mean he couldn't figure out how to use Hood last year.  The same Hood that was averaging 18 a game on a team that would win 50 games in the west.  I mean he choose JR Smith over Hood last year at a time when they needed someone who could score (which is clearly Hood's strength).   Take Crowder.  Perfect example of Lue not knowing what he is doing.  Crowder looked terrible in Cleveland, goes to Utah and miraculously turns it around and is fully back into his Boston days form.  Lue just has no concept on how to coach.  His designed plays are horrid and his rotations are even worse.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

He is scapegoat for them losing LeBron, and adding little to the team,  plain and simple.  Sure is not the best coach, but most any coach would have a big dropoff after LeBron leaving.  Probably at a loss because LeBron was the coach while he was there to a large degree.

Yeah, it's really mind-boggling. Maybe everybody really did believe that they would still be quite good by just taking away Lebron and adding Sexton - that each player would pick up an inch or two of the slack and they would prove everybody wrong. They really should have known better going into the season.

And, wow, I can't believe they still owe Lue $15M. I am sure he is disappointed, but not that disappointed. He is an NBA Champion coach and is about to receive a ridiculous amount of compensation for not doing anything.

No one in Cleveland thought this team would be a contender, but the general belief was that the team could compete for a playoff spot and would be a fun entertaining team to watch.  There was also a general belief that without James, that Lue might actually be free to coach and that he could have been the coach to get them there (being a young innovate offensive mind).  It makes perfect sense why they started the year with him (along with all the money they owe him).  But they have been by far the worst team in the league thus far this year and that is a real problem.  Lue also disregarded management's wishes on the vets vs. young guys and it didn't work.  You can't go against management and fail and expect to keep your job.

Larry Drew actually seems like the right type of coach for this team.  Maybe he turns it around a bit for them, which would validate the Lue firing.

He was doing exactly what they need...a top lottery pick
they do seem to do abnormally well winning the lottery.

Bron, Kyrie, Wiggins.   Wouldn't shock me if they win it again this year regardless of their odds.  having said that, I'd be fine if they did win it this time because it'd give us the Sac pick.
