Yabu looks like a totaly wasted pick.
I know you can't hit them all, but...
What is his NBA skill?

That's the problem. There's nothing special about him to warrant keeping him around. He would need to become an epic shooter to justify the pick..

So much is contingent upon him developing a consistent outside shot because the one really intriguing aspect of his game is his ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim; however, that won’t matter much if no one needs to respect him at the three point line. I, like you both, don’t understand the purpose of keeping him around given how much work he needs and how he projects with his given physical attributes and skill set. I’d rather keep someone around with a lower ceiling but better chance at immediate production in some capacity.

Yabu looked much better 2 years ago. His game has gone nowhere, except maybe backwards.
He's a 3rd year player participating in summer league. That itself is not a good sign. Yabuselse is likely done in Boston after this year.

This is incorrect. He's a 2nd year player and don't forget he missed SL last season.

agreed.  this gets overlooked by those looking to toss him under the bus right away.

I want to see him in preseason games after he's had another training camp under his belt.  let's see what we have with him then.

What is his (projected) NBA skill that you have confidence in?
"The joy of the balling under the rims."

That first half had me put the game on pause at half time.Bird is playing up,the offense is dribble happy.Hassan Martin just disappeared out side some boxing out.
Was it the late start and a practice earlier?
I might protest and not even begin the 2nd half.
rollie, perhaps you should amend to thread title to read: That was bad basketball summer league basketball.

 ;D

To me, pretty much all SL basketball is bad basketball, and I don't really understand why anyone gets excited about it. Most of these guys are scrubs, yet every summer there are two or three guys who get hyped as if they're gonna be all-stars.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

It's the first chance to see the rookies play.  It's a chance to see second year players take on a larger roles such as Brown last year.  That's why I enjoy it.  But I agree that it's bad basketball as there are a lot of scrubs, guys are rusty, there's a lot of selfish play, and poor team work as these guys have only had a few practices together.
