He has the potential to be a top 40 player this year. He is the fifth best player on his own team.

What?

The Gordon Hayward hyperbole on this forum is comical. People realize that he still hasn't been cleared to play 5 on 5 basketball yet?

You realize your argument is nonsensical, right? Are you suggesting he's our 5th best player because he's currently rehabbing and are basing it off his current state? If so, I would say he's even worse than that. If it's a healthy Hayward you're talking about, the likes of which we've seen, then you're still wrong.

It's really just a question of health. If he's at or close to 100 percent, then he's easily our second best player, arguably the best if you factor in defense. If he's not healthy that changes everything, but I think everyone understands that and it's not really necessary to preface every comment with 'if he's healthy'.

Another odd comment from you.

Nope, he’s dead on. Completely makes up for that “people criticizing bob Williams are racist” post.

Hayward is fifth if he’s healthy.

If he’s healthy and our fifth best player, give us the Larry O’Brien right now.

I've watched him his whole career. He's a nice player, nothing special.

Are you attempting to say only 10 players are special, or weak trolling for internet fame?

Either way, just stop.

Hayward is a top-20 player when healthy. How long it takes for him to get there remains to be seen. But when he does, along with Kyrie..... watch out.

He has never been selected to an all-NBA team his entire career and he is a top 20 player to you? No. Just no.

Considering that would mean top-15 (and dependent upon position), I don’t get your point.

I’ll even say top-25.

You can’t name 35-39 players better. Waste your time and try.

So you are saying you agree that he has never been a top 15 player his entire career; yet, you think he is going to come off a horrific injury, which will have prevented him from playing meaningful basketball in over 18 months, and come back in October and be a top 20 player?

His injury prevented him from playing meaningful basketball for 8 months, not over 18.

His injury prevented him from playing meaningful basketball for 8 months, not over 18.

His last stretch of meaningful basketball was in April and May of 2017. He will be returning to play meaningful basketball in late October/early November 2018. That's more than 8 months. Simple math.

Off seasons are equal among all players, you can’t tack on 2 offseasons, or 10 months worth of time and blame it on his injury not allowing him to play meaningful basketball from June until October.  It makes it sound like it was an over 18 month injury when it’s not.
