So good to hear this, or anything really.  I guess he wasn’t even close to returning this past season.

What worries me moving fwd is that he won't go to the rim hard/dunk ... unless lane is crystal clear

Hopefully this won't be the case but can't expect this next season

Bring Hayward off the bench. Ease him back slowly

When he returns the building should be rocking

It's certainly possible he won't come back as quickly as we hope and they might need to ease him in, but there's no reason to assume that. If he's healthy, have him start right away and play normal minutes. If he's not, then ease him in.

The Boston Celtics announced that Gordon Hayward has had the plates and screws removed following his broken fibula. He'll resume basketball activities in 6-8 weeks and is expected to be a full strength for training camp.

It seems the screws were causing irritation just like kyrie

Gordon Hayward today underwent successful surgery to remove the plate and screws that were implanted following the broken fibula he suffered on October 17.

Hayward’s ankle and fibula are both structurally sound, and the removal of the plate and screws was necessary as they were causing irritation to his peroneal tendons.

Hayward is scheduled to return to basketball activities in six to eight weeks, and is expected to be at full strength for the start of training camp.

What's the basis for that statement?

I think people are forgetting how good Hayward is in all aspects of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YEt8p6a6uXU

good, get all that stuff out of his leg before the season starts.  hopefully he won't have any setbacks as he gets back in shape this summer.  if he needs 20-25 games of limited minutes to get back his feel for the game, we got hit covered :)

They definitely are. Such a fundamentally sound player. Hits shots from all 3 levels, can score in isolation and the post, makes good passes, gets rebounds, doesn't force it or turn it over often (averaged under 2 in '16-'17) and is a versatile strong defender.

Irving & Hayward in the PnR is going to be such a headache for opposition teams. Similar to how Irving and Horford was.
