What does anyone think of Marcus Morris for Wizards, plus maybe our 1st pick, and two second rounders for the Wizards 15th pick?

I think Morris playing next to his brother could allow him to not be as disgruntled, plus it gives so much flexibility on switching. You can start Wall, Beal, Morris, Porter, and Gortat. Bring Morris/Oubre off the bench as a potent scoring duo.

We needed this guy for the title run, not the house money year

Completely messes up our plan

I think Semi is ready for a bigger role anyway

If Morris is really unhappy (or going to be), trade him

Im sure Danny can find another Morris/Semi type with the 1st pick or with a 2nd round pick(buy)

Morris is a starting-level SF/PF who can play capable defense at both positions.  That's hard to replace with a late 1st or 2nd rounder.

You can't replace him with that.  Morris is a really good piece for the Celts for next year.  Cheap 1 year contract who adds toughness to the team.  You don't and can't rely on Semi if you think you can win.

Sort of not related, but I just realized how stupidly happy I am, knowing that Hayward wasn't rushed back, like I was praying every five minutes this year.

Morris did a great job this year, and he will do a great job next year, but Hayward is much more dangerous. He will not be complaining a tiny little bit if his minutes drop but he wins a ring and is a serious contributor (which will be expected).

Mook has always been a no bullEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline./honest media operator. I would just read this as him talking openly, without any hidden agenda.

He will be 29 when his contract ends, and have at least one more decent payday. He knows that that contract is unlikely to be for a contender - no contender would spend serious cap-space on him and he should know that..

Morris toughness is overrated

Do you remember him ever taking a charge, grabbing crucial offensive rebounds or diving for the loose ball?

Trash talking, screaming at opponents = tough guy wannabe

Im not oppose to keeping him if he quits crying about his role. But indifferent if the team trades him...    Just takes way too many bad shots  and shoots at a poor percentage for his position/size.

Morris is under contract.

The contract + his production = about as team friendly as you can get

Morris, essentially is not replaceable for the above reason.

Morris stays for the coming year and gets what he got last year, then, gets his pay day in 2019/20...win win.

The thing with Morris is we already have a replacement if we trade him: Theis Theis Baby! Resign Baynes and you have Horford, Baynes, Theiss, Yabu, and semi as bigs. Maybe sign a ring chaser big like Speights?????

But back to Marcus Morris.....would you and would Indy trade him for Lance Stephenson?

Roster:
PG: Irving/Smart
SG: Brown/Stephenson
F: Hayward/Ojeleye
F:Tatum/Theis/Yabu
C: Horford/Baynes/Speights?

PLUS whatever Rozier gets you in a trade

I think Morris is more replaceable than this.  Not saying these guys are available, but you can find slightly above average D and poor efficiency.  It's possible to find in a late first rounder, albeit unlikely.  Each of these guys gives you something different than Morris, but you could plug them in and be just fine.

Danny will have a busy off season now

I wonder if our bench will be blown up because of this

Morris has his place - backup PF off the bench.  his limited skills are what limit his time --> ball-stopper, inconsistent shooting, poor rebounder, mediocre-at-best help defender or defender as part of a unit.

I don't agree with any part of your assessment of Morris.

I 100% agree with you.  He has his "fit" already....its on the bench as the 6th-7th-8th guy up.

To be honest, unless there is an injury I expect Semi will have a much smaller role than this year. With Tatum, Brown, Hayward, and Morris I just don't see him getting much run. He could be the 11th or 12th man on the roster next year.

Marcus would be the perfect injury replacement in the case anyone else does get placed on the DL, but I'm just not that high on him anymore. He's done a great job, but I'm clearly ready to move on. The Marcus experiment was fun and all, but does anyone seriously want to go through another 5-10 games of watching him chuck up sh-

Who am I talking about here... Marcus Smart or Marcus Morris?

Jeez this is so confusing?!?

I'm so unsure of where either Marcus's fit on this team either!
