Ainge said he expected Tatum to only play 20-25 min off the bench this year which was interesting

I expect Tatum to get stronger and put on muscle. This will lead to better finishing around the rim (i.e. not getting stripped as often as he did in year 1) and better defense.

Tatum might be able to quicken his 3 point release with practice. It seems like his 3 point shot kind of takes a while to get off, I expect him to work on releasing the ball quicker without rushing his shot.

Mostly Tatum scored in iso, spot up and the occasional post up. Next year you will see him create in the pick and roll more.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I could see him averaging 16-19 points per game on awesome efficiency. The points will likely come from being stronger at the ring and the FT line, now that he’s recognised as a young star nation wide.

I’ll be more interested in seeing how his body changes over the next 12 months. If he’s able to hold his own against smaller 4’s by next playoffs (think Thad Young type guys) then he’s in an awesome spot. Considering he’ll only be 21 by then I think it’s important to not expect him to rock up to pre-season at 240lbs, but to take it slow.

We’ve got a special talent. Enjoy the ride

What I would like to see is Tatum really improve his body in the off season.  If he can put on 10-15 lbs of muscle that will really help him out both offensively and defensively.

Next I would like to see him gain more confidence on sensing when he needs to get aggressive and to trust that instinct.

After Tatum dunked on Lebron and scored the step back 3, I would have loved him to say to the guys, ok just get on my back, I'm going at the Cavs.  Right now he doesn't yet feel the confidence to do this even though skill wise he was our best offensive player and our best chance to score in that game 7.

Next season I want to see Tatum's USAGE rate increase to over 25%.  This season his usage was only around 20% when he is clearly one of our top offensive options whenever he is on the floor.  So he is not taking a high enough chunk of the shots for an elite offensive player.

So next season if we can have Kyrie at his usual 30% usage, Tatum 25% usage, and Hayward 25% usage I believe our offense could take the leap to the next level ie a 110 ppg type of offense.  But Tatum needs to believe that he can be that top 1-2 scoring option and his usage rate needs to increase.

Tatum's ceiling is extremely high.  If his usage rate increases to 25% or better, I won't be surprised to see him score 20+ ppg or more in just his sophomore season.

Continued progress playing on a contender. I don't expect an all star season until year 3-4, namely b/c he won't get counting stats on a stacked team. To score 25+ pts a game, he will definitely be taking shots from the other guys.

The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

The number 1 rule in shooting- if it isn't broken, don't fit it

Tatums 3 pt form is fine
