What I would like to see is Tatum really improve his body in the off season. If he can put on 10-15 lbs of muscle that will really help him out both offensively and defensively.
Next I would like to see him gain more confidence on sensing when he needs to get aggressive and to trust that instinct.
After Tatum dunked on Lebron and scored the step back 3, I would have loved him to say to the guys, ok just get on my back, I'm going at the Cavs. Right now he doesn't yet feel the confidence to do this even though skill wise he was our best offensive player and our best chance to score in that game 7.
Next season I want to see Tatum's USAGE rate increase to over 25%. This season his usage was only around 20% when he is clearly one of our top offensive options whenever he is on the floor. So he is not taking a high enough chunk of the shots for an elite offensive player.
So next season if we can have Kyrie at his usual 30% usage, Tatum 25% usage, and Hayward 25% usage I believe our offense could take the leap to the next level ie a 110 ppg type of offense. But Tatum needs to believe that he can be that top 1-2 scoring option and his usage rate needs to increase.
Tatum's ceiling is extremely high. If his usage rate increases to 25% or better, I won't be surprised to see him score 20+ ppg or more in just his sophomore season.
