I don't know when this was but Woj saying the lakers have enough pieces to get a deal done

https://www.espn.com/nba/team/_/name/lal/los-angeles-lakers

Of course he's saying all together they have enough but it remains to be seen what they'll offer and who they will include.

I thought I read (maybe here) that he was on sportscenter saying there is distance between the two teams.

Who knows.
Woj is connected to Griffin, we know this:

My read is that Griffin wants to get the best deal he can and get the situation over with so he can rebuild without the circus going into the season. So he's playing the Lakers and Celtics off each other both in private and in the public leaks about the talks. The "Lakers have enough" language is a straight-forward message to Ainge and any dark-horse squad, I'm not waiting any longer for best offers get them in before the draft. (Denver/Toronto/etc)

Yeah, this seems to be in line with what Windhorst is now reporting, too (see my post below).

LOL sounds like we're all on the same page.

I would like to believe if Davis is on this team next year that the Boston offense could be quite different. Davis gives Stevens something he has never had as a coach and I think we could see a revamped offense with Davis as the clear #1 option.

Also, the C's defense has been pretty great for the last two years with it's one Achilles heel being the need for an inside defensive presence. Add Davis, maybe one of the two best defensive bigs in the league.

Even if it's just one year, you have to go all in for a title next year when you have the best big man and a top 4-5 player in the league in his prime on your team.

A good read.  Apparently Windhorst was just on ESPN Jump and basically said Pelicans are making Lakers' offer public as leverage so that Boston can raise their offer.

Though we know whose interests Windhorst represents.
TP always good to hear you have it right.  ;D

I'm curious to what Ainge's current offer is, because it clearly HAS not leaked unlike the Lakers. I actually find that curious, why haven't the Pelicans leaked what the C's have put on the table like they have with the Lakers?

Boston doesn't leak things like LA, so are the Pelicans respecting that and keeping that in house? Or is it that Boston made it clear that if NOP wants to do business they can't leak specifics....

Very curious....

Anthony Davis is absolutely as impactful as Kawhi. He's a big and not a wing so it looks different, but he is right there. Davis on this years Raptors instead of Kawhi would be on the most talented roster he's even been on by a large margin.

Cannot see Davis locking down Giannis completely like Kawhi,
Cannot see Davis bringing the ball up the court and setting up teammates like Leonard has been.
IMO, Kawhi is the best player in the NBA right now. Davis can't do everything he can do, but then Durant and Giannis can't either.

If the Pels wanted to take the Laker deal it would have been done by now.

This is the reason the SI article dropped. It was public pressure on the Cs but as well as the Pels to take the Laker offer.

Griffin is an Ainge guy. He wants Tatum. Danny is not going to give him up because of the risk AD leaves. Lakers are leverage and a last resort.

TBH Brown, Smart and the #14 pick is still better than what the Lakers are offering.

The Lakers, thus far, are sticking to their no-Kuzma trade posture ... but let’s see if they maintain it with the draft only a week away now. L.A. knows it likely needs to land Anthony Davis before June 30 to become a factor in chasing a prime free agent to join a LeBron/AD duo

What is the Laker offer?

Ingram, Ball and some sort of vet with the 4th pick via a third team

Well, we seem to know that it includes Brown, but not Tatum. The assumption must be that Smart is included and we have no idea what picks are included. If Boston does cave and includes Tatum, hopefully we can hang on to the MEM pick. I might slightly prefer to keep Brown/MEM pick over Tatum/#22; but that is probably just me assuming the MEM pick won't end up like the SAC pick.

Lebron + AD + who? I think Jimmy Butler is the one guy who is most likely to go there, but that seems like an awkward fit. They would need an elite 3 pt shooter than anything, but I think the world ends before Klay leaves GSW.

Stand strong, Danny. Do not give up Tatum. The fact that all these assets are being thrown around, but the one thing Griffin wants is Tatum shows us just how valuable he is.

Lakers can see that package and raise it with Ingram Ball Kuzma Hart and #4 pick
