This really is amazing. The fact that the media doesn’t have a clear picture of what Boston is offering just highlights this organization’s professionalism.

It also demonstrates that LAL is the source of all these leaks. What a lackluster organization. They’re so lucky they live in that climate abd market, because otherwise they’re one of the worst-run organization’s in sports.

Lakers offer seems worse than what they offered at the trade deadline. No Kuzma? They seem to be overvaluing that #4 pick and what it can fetch.

Particularly considering that whatever that potential deal is has probably been the same offer Ainge would have before trade deadline (if rose rule didn't prevent it) - I seem to remember reporters saying Ainge told NO that his best offer would be on the table in the summer, or something like that. Which means he probably had an idea of what it would take for quite some time.

Celtics and Lakers are engaged in trade talks with New Orleans on All-NBA star Anthony Davis, league sources tell me, @ZachLowe_NBA, @ramonashelburne and @WindhorstESPN. Lakers No. 4 pick has been discussed as trade chip to help Pels acquire high-level player in multi-team deals.
And...here...we...go

here we go what

what the heck is the premise of the trade anyways

Lakers want Davis too no??

so why the hell would they want to help us

Unless what they want to do is screw the Celts.   Take assets from the Celts, then next season sign Davis for Free

that would be the dumbest thing/result

Funny how it's soooooo obvious that AD will sign in LA next year no matter what... and yet here are the Lakers, offering up two of their top draft picks and another #4 just to get him right now... THAT'S why I don't buy this garbage from AD's camp. If it were a forgone conclusion he'd be in purple & gold next year then they wouldn't bother to trade for him now and give up assets. Heck, trade those same assets for Mike Conley, if you know you'll sign AD! Or some other player to bring in a title. Lakers are desperate to be relevant on the court and Lebron is putting pressure on Rich Paul and the LA office to get it done.

Exactly. If you're that confident, keep your assets, preserve your cap space and wait. They don't want a Paul George repeat (i.e. AD ends wanting to stay) and Lebron doesn't want to waste another year.

Well, to an extent this is true, but as you mentioned Lebron is old and waiting another year for AD would be just that - wasting another year.

I think LAL, Lebron, and Paul are all in on this together - do whatever it takes by any means necessary to get AD there this year, as they all realize that (a) they can’t waste one of Lebron’s final years as a top-level player, and (b) there may not be cap room to sign him next year, as they will necessarily need to chase other targets this summer due to (a).

100% true

Money talks. Look at paul george. Everyone forgot his LA demand so easily. That wasn't even the agent. That was paul telling the world he was going to LA. what happened? Okc showed him the money that's what happened

No it isnt.  His agents despised the Lakers front office and pushed him away from LA.

Lakers and Celtics are not helping each other which Woj clarified in a later tweet.

Woj on ESPN SportsCenter (TV) live right now:

- Boston's offer is very fluid built around Brown and future trade draft picks

- Hope is to lure Kyrie back by parterning him up with AD

- Tatum is not in the offer but if Ainge makes him available deal could be done

- Griffin is very close to Danny Ainge, they worked together in Phoenix

HOLY **** I went on NBA Reddit to see what they were saying, and one of the first posts was a Woj tweet saying they (Lakers) got AD for just Ingram, #4 and Hart. Gave me a mini-heart attack as I also saw 100+ comments under that post thinking it was real (but it was NOT real and now it's deleted lol)

lol that was probably from notable Sports Twitter troll Barry McCockiner.  He changed his name to Woj to say that the Pels traded AD to the Lakers and Rick Fox retweeted it.  He pulled a similar stunt a few months ago saying that Antonio Brown was traded to the Bills.

Mine as well. There was no way Tatum was in the trade proposal when the only competition is Lakers junk. Boy if DA can get AD and keep Tatum... mindblown

I prefer keeping Tatum. Like his ceiling better. Would give them all the picks they wanted to leave him out.
