and now LaVar Ball comes out and says he doesnt want Lonzo in New Orleans and said he will "speak it into existence"

thats gonna throw a wrench into things for LA

i luv it when Lavar " speaks it into exsistence ". ...  ;D.

Lavar is such a mystical figure anyway .   :o

Lavar is gonna end up with a FAT LIP from Camp Corupt if he runs his trap too much

That's honestly not a bad offer. Sure the Celtics can beat that this summer, but that's still a lot of value.

It's really not that much value.  It's a lot of quantity, but you're trading 1.5 years of a top-5 superstar for two average starters, two late round picks, and a bad young PG with some modest potential who brings a huge distraction with him.

Beyond the Lakers and Knicks, the Pelicans have been made aware of "a handful" of teams that Anthony Davis would be willing to sign long-term with upon a trade, league sources tell ESPN. Boston isn't included on that list.

This is complete spin.  Everyone is being played.  Here's a 5 minute excerpt where I explain the logic to all of this:  https://youtu.be/-VFuQ9IuTOE

Once we get past the trade deadline with Davis still on the Pelicans, these storylines will completely change.  Suddenly Boston will be on Anthony Davis' radar.  But for the next few days, hold tight through an increasing violent storm of misinformation and spin.

Based on every indiciation the Pelicans have been given, Danny Ainge and the Celtics are not scared off by any of the Anthony Davis reports and fully plan to go after AD this summer.

As long as that’s true, I find it hard to believe this saga ends by Thursday.

Let's hope we can get past this deadline. I don't have a lot of faith in Demps to not cave in to the pressure and BS.

There would be a lot less drama if Kyrie would just come out and say I am staying in Boston just like I said early in the season. Why doesn't he do that? Why does he potentially sabotage his own team's possible improvement WITH AD? I just don't get it. Is he a part of this whole Rich Paul powerplay for LeBron?

Because maybe his future isn't as tethered to AD aas people are making it out to be... And because maybe, quite possibly, he's not sure if he wants to be here longterm.

Either way, he's not sabotaging anything. We can't trade for AD right now, so this season is what it is regardless.

I explain it in this video - https://youtu.be/26bvCeGQaTI .  He wants to make sure he gets a say in the direction of the team - something he probably deserves considering his stature... and coming out and saying "i'm definitely staying" takes away any of that leverage.

Whether or not we keep Tatum/Brown or trade Hayward/Horford or go after Davis or work a sign-and-trade for Kevin Durant - Kyrie wants to make sure he has a say in that.  It makes sense for him to play his cards and he's playing them.

Everything still suggests he's staying long-term.

Or, and I think this is actually the case, he feels he has already answered the question several times and refuses to say anything else, since people don't seem to believe what he has already said.

And because the people who would be most affected by all this silliness, his team and team mates, already know what he is going to do because he already has let them know privately.

This is the aspect where I think fans are silly. It's like some fans don't understand that these are real people who talk to each other and let them know things privately, without having to run to the media with what he says. There is just no reason to have to go public because some fans can't take the anxiety of not knowing everything.

Exactly !      Wheres the beef ?   I don'y want Rondo and and low chance of stars.  For Davis ...this kid wants a boat load of best First without restrictions i can get.

I hang up the phone wihout LA s next three firsts .

I am sorry but that really makes no sense to "NOT" say anything like he is staying which might jeopardize his "say" in the direction of the team. Are you saying he is playing it this way to force Danny into being his puppet like LeBron does with his management? By saying that he is staying does nothing to make him stay. He can say it now and take off on July 1 if he wants. Like he said he owes nobody. So by not saying anything potentially AD goes to LA. How does that help him unless he is going there too? If he says he is staying and that prevents New Orleans from caving then the game is still open for him to make his own decision but the decision to stay here may be better with his buddy at least being in play for Boston. So I disagree that his elusiveness is playing the game correctly. This only helps him if he is for sure leaving.

I still think Tatum + Smart + Williams + 3 or 4 #1s beats that offer, and that’s not even our best package.
TP for saving me the time to type this.

Part of the recent rumors is that the Pelicans in any deal would like a team to also to take on Moore or Hill or even both as they wouldn’t be a part of a rebuilding team.  I don’t think this deal has enough outgoing salary to accomplish that.  Maybe as a separate transaction a sign and trade of Rozier of about 17 mil with half his salary only eligible to be used in a trade and we take Moore off their hands.

It’s a shame that Rozier can’t be combined with other salaries in a core deal for Davis as I think he is much more expendable than someone like Smart, and they probably have similar trade value if all things salary wise being equal.

It's funny, I actually think the Lakers have offered about all they can.

The problem is that none Lonzo, Ingram or Kuzma profile as All-Stars like Tatum. Had they drafted Mitchell, Fox, Tatum, probably even Markannen, this deal is probably done.

Well, New Orleans has to explore the market and collect more assets.

As example:

Let Ball + '19 Lakers pick go to Phoenix for Josh Jackson + Phoenix pick.
Then trade Julius Randle + Darius Miller + Cheik Diallo to Detroit for Jon Leuer and a 1st round pick.
Trade Rondo + Stephenson to Miami for Olynyk + Miami pick.

And then use most of those assets to trade for Beal and Towns. Get a big three of Beal, Towns and Holiday (all under contract for at least 3 years). And keep Payton, Moore and Mirotic as role players.
