LaVar Ball tells ESPN that if Lonzo Ball is traded, he wants his son to go to Phoenix: “We want to be in LA. But if he’s traded, I don’t want Lonzo in New Orleans. Phoenix is the best fit for him. And I am going to speak it into existence.”

Yeah, I’m sure NOLA is chomping at the bit at the chance to inherit all of this baggage with Lonzo 😂

I dont know how you can feel good about keeping Kyrie now if Davis is adamant about not wanting Boston.  Im sure he’s talked to Irving.  Obviously, kyrie isnt telling him to be patient and wait for Boston.

Or, more likely, this is all a ploy by Klutch to get AD to his preferred destination of LA, fully well knowing that he would likely go to Boston in a trade this summer if not traded to LA before Thursday, ultimately being okay with that decision long-term.

If he legitimately wants to win, there’s no logical reason for saying no to Boston long-term. This is clearly agent-driven propaganda aimed at getting NOLA to fold before the deadline. Why do you think his other three teams on his “preferred” list are teams that can’t outbid LA before the deadline? Lol

Finally ....somebody says it .....TP.....Davis is part of Lebron Klutch , no matter if Boston was OK in his mind as a back up to LA or NY ,  Klutch won't let him say , they are putting out the word he hates Boston period ....of course thats the line they are gonna have him say .  Klutch and Bron won't have Boston on ANY desination lists for people they want .....that just goes, without say n.  Danny and Wyc know that much .    PG and Kawhi don't hatemtheir teams , they wanted to go to LA and put out the best PR work possible from their camps to ensure it their desinations

I still think NYK could leapfrog us if they get the #1 overall pick.

Dennis Smith Jr. + Kevin Knox + Zion Williamson + a couple of 1sts (which they now have courtesy of the Porzingis deal) + the ability to shed a bad contract.

I think AD going to NYK is worst case scenario, because I think Kyrie seriously considers the Knicks if they get AD (I don't think they're really on his radar otherwise, despite the media reports).

Even if the Lakers get Anthony Davis, they're not winning a championship any time soon.

Latest report has the Lakers offering Kuzma, Ingram, Ball, Rondo, Stephenson, Beasley, and 2 1st round picks.

AD and Lebron will not be able to get past 2nd round of the playoffs with what's left with the Laker roster.

Wishful thinking.  When you have possibly the two best players in the NBA, you have a legit chance.

there no BEEF ....NO is really gonna be in the hole ....they will have like 15-20 wins max with that po poo platter.  id pull a Danny on LA and want FOUR firsts ....Got to include Zubac too.  So if LA experiment with ol Bronny fails , then LA is gonna really stink  for a,few years .

I don’t come to the forums much these days because of life, but here is why Kyrie leaving makes sense for Kyrie:

He was drafted at age 19 by Cleveland.  8 years later, he’s had limited choice on where he gets to play and live.  Turning 27, this is his chance to choose his path.  Sure, he signed an extension with Cleveland, but the alternative was to wait out restricted free agency, so it wasn’t really much of a choice.  For someone like Kyrie, I think the opportunity to choose a team, rather than being drafted or traded, will really be valued.  You can even hear a bit of that mindset in the interview last Friday: “I spent the last 8 years trying to do what everyone else wanted me to do.”

The decision for Kyrie won’t be about winning, or loyalty, or endorsements.  It will be about proving to himself as much as anyone that he is in control.  And re-signing in Boston will be too much of a reminder that he did not choose his current situation, and he will go elsewhere.
I don’t think that this will be a factor at all really. Choosing to stay in Boston is a clear indicator that he is in control.

Good to have you back, however briefly!

Some people are underestimating how much Kyrie wants to win as the undisputed leader of a team.  I firmly believe that the narrative surrounding winning is equally as important to Kyrie as the winning itself.  It's very similar to how Kobe felt regarding Shaq.  A title in Boston will add more to Kyrie's legacy than winning one with KD, AD, Kawhi, etc.

A trade for Davis would be fine because Kyrie would still be viewed as the leader.  However, I'm convinced that Kyrie would prefer for this team to figure things out without trading for Davis.

Agree completely. I think legacy is a definite concern for Kyrie. And what's best for his legacy would be staying in Boston

I think legacy is important to him too. Being a Celtic great makes a ton of sense. But to play contrarian, if AD is traded to NYK - he can go there as well and return a formerly great franchise to glory.

Not saying I think it can happen, just looking at realistically. He has other options and not all of them are laughable.

Maybe if they're in the east.
But I don't think they have a chance in the west.
Lebron will also be 35 years old next season.

Magic and Lebron admitted that signing Lebron was not going to make the Lakers an instant contender.

It would have been interesting if the Lakers got Paul George or Kawhi last summer.

But right now, even if they add AD, Lakers are far from being a contender.

Maybe Lebron has 2-3 good years left.
After that, Lakers will be back to where they were in 2014.

Just heard on NBA radio that the Lakers have offered:
Baall, Kuzma, Ingram, Stevenson, Rondo & Beasley plus two 1st round picks (no details)

for Davis & Solomon Hill (bad contract)

I think they will take it.

That's honestly not a bad offer. Sure the Celtics can beat that this summer, but that's still a lot of value.
If I were New Orleans I would demand Wagner + Bonga instead of Beasley and an extra pick, with all picks unprotected of course and then actually make that deal.

Ball, Kuzma, Ingram, Stevenson, Rondo, Wagner & Bonga + '19 Lakers 1st + '21 Lakers 1st + '23 Lakers 1st

for Davis & Hill

New roster for New Orleans:

Rondo/Ball/Payton/Jackson - Holiday/Moore/Stevenson - Ingram/Williams/Bonga - Kuzma/Mirotic/Wagner - Randle/Okafor

and all your own picks and 3 Lakers picks

Sabotaged by Klutch. 3 days and I have no faith NOLA won’t crumble. The whole thing is just too fishy.
