I still think Tatum + Smart + Williams + 3 or 4 #1s beats that offer, and that’s not even our best package.
TP for saving me the time to type this.

The question becomes, does it beat NYK if they get the #1 overall pick? Is it better than a deal built around Dennis Smith Jr. + Kevin Knox + Zion Williamson + a couple of 1sts (which they now have courtesy of the Porzingis deal) + the ability to shed a bad contract?

I don’t come to the forums much these days because of life, but here is why Kyrie leaving makes sense for Kyrie:

He was drafted at age 19 by Cleveland.  8 years later, he’s had limited choice on where he gets to play and live.  Turning 27, this is his chance to choose his path.  Sure, he signed an extension with Cleveland, but the alternative was to wait out restricted free agency, so it wasn’t really much of a choice.  For someone like Kyrie, I think the opportunity to choose a team, rather than being drafted or traded, will really be valued.  You can even hear a bit of that mindset in the interview last Friday: “I spent the last 8 years trying to do what everyone else wanted me to do.”

The decision for Kyrie won’t be about winning, or loyalty, or endorsements.  It will be about proving to himself as much as anyone that he is in control.  And re-signing in Boston will be too much of a reminder that he did not choose his current situation, and he will go elsewhere.

Wow. Just add about 500 pages, and this would be one tragic novel. Fiction, I hope. Though I get it and it makes sense. I'm just hoping for a happy ending.

Haha. A happy ending...

I don’t think that this will be a factor at all really. Choosing to stay in Boston is a clear indicator that he is in control.

Good to have you back, however briefly!

I dont think that not getting davis means kyrie is gone.

In fact we are winning alot of games without a center and a broken gordon hayward.

If danny swings right now for someone like vucevic and saves the real assets for offseason...then lookout.

If duant wants out hayward and a slew of picks looks pretty good....compared to nothing in return.

Tatum and brown amd marcus still here for possible trades elsewhere.

Team has a slew of assets, far better than any team kyrie has been the sole man on in the past.

Our team right now is better than okcs team and george resigned there.

If Im kyrie Im getting with Durant and going the knicks.   better than playing with a broke down hayward and an old horford that really have no chance of beating the top teams.

Do you realize how this ridiculous this sounds when we just beat the thunder yesterday, have beat the raptors twice, the bucks and just about any top in the league? I honestly can't understand this viewpoint.

Do you realize how ridiculous it sounds when you start your argument talking about regular season home games?

Lakers want a clean roster for next season. This allows Lebron to go get who he wants. By burning down pretty much everything for AD it allows them to do that. Would just have a bunch of buyout guys that fall off at the end of the season.

Next year you have LBJ, AD, Hart and another max slot to go attract Leonard.

i noticed they did not include the big young center in their offer.

I agree, that cleans house for all but five players and Lebron plays GM and hand picks, the rest.  Him and four guys .

I let LA keep Ball and Lavar and Kuzma he is old as Smart ...i d rather have the center and Hart , and Ingram and FOUR LA Firsts .  Old Rondo and Lance i guess they want to include some vets

NO is getting no really good player ....if they don't take the Zuvoc th center .  To me Kuzma and Ball is just most of the same level crap they sent to the Cavs ...only good for tanking teams to use to act like they are playing ... ::)

The Lakers young players are so overvalued. Ball? Ingram has regressed. Kuzma is a poor man's Tatum IMO. Just don't see a lot there but role players.

We haven't had hayward or irving for playoff games before. So what are we supposed to use for evidence? That we beat the Bucks last year with the same team they have now minus lopez?

Lonzo Ball pulled all Lakers material from his social media lol. Frustration vs something imminent who knows.

Lavar's come out of hiding to say he doesn't want him in NOLA. Thinking it's frustration.

kuzma is like 4-5 years older than Tatum and is basically a smooth scorer ....somethimes ...and minus avg defense.  Unless NO gets like 3-4 Firsts. , the Zubuc , Ingram and Hart ...i just don't see much BEEF on the table ..

Come on LA ....where the beef ? AD should ring up a Nets to Boston type haul.

I d start with three young guys my choice and four firsts and take old petta chit Rondo and Lance.   That gets me near to the rest of the league.

Its bull too.....that comment by Magic they would not go after Davis in the summer ...i don't belive that for a minute.   They are trying to dismantle the Celtics andmhave us lose,Irving.

I dont know how you can feel good about keeping Kyrie now if Davis is adamant about not wanting Boston.  Im sure he’s talked to Irving.  Obviously, kyrie isnt telling him to be patient and wait for Boston.

Or, more likely, this is all a ploy by Klutch to get AD to his preferred destination of LA, fully well knowing that he would likely go to Boston in a trade this summer if not traded to LA before Thursday, ultimately being okay with that decision long-term.

If he legitimately wants to win, there’s no logical reason for saying no to Boston long-term. This is clearly agent-driven propaganda aimed at getting NOLA to fold before the deadline. Why do you think his other three teams on his “preferred” list are teams that can’t outbid LA before the deadline? Lol

Gee are you aware that the playoff team Kyrie would be on this year would be the same playoff team with old Horford, and without Irving, Hayward and Theis that beat the tops teams in the East last year? Adding Kyrie, Theis and even a limited Hayward is going to make the Celtics easily able to take down top teams AGAIN this year and beyond.
