Tonights game for me. Obviously another lottery pick would be fantastic but I'm not sure we'll have another season like this one. Tatum has been extremely mature for a rookie and we've been stretched thinner than we ever thought. Next year the opportunities will be much more limited. I do wonder what winning we would need to sacrifice to fund the #2 playing time. That is a good problem to have though.

A win tonight is a step closer to ending LeBrons run, the beginning of a Celtics dynasty. I think I'd take that over most things.

If I had to choose between winning game 2 and getting the 2nd pick in the lottery, I’d take the pick.

Probably the pick, just because of the long-term possibilities.

A Game 2 win, while exciting, is just us holding serve.  The #2 pick on the other hand could boost our chances for a decade.

My thoughts as well.  A tougher choice would be the #2 pick or beating Cleveland in the series.  They could win tonight and then lose the next 4 games.

Both is more exciting!
2-0 and possibly Luka.

I voted the pick.   Of course, we would all like it to be both but I think that undermines the integrity of the OP 's question.

Also share the same thoughts.  Yeah, that would be a tougher choice, but I think we are too good and playing too well to lose 4 straight.

If we land the #2 pick, I will have to believe that the league is now fixed in our favor.   :)

More exciting? Easily the pick. We have a 3% of getting it. We have an over 50% chance of winning tonight. Simple as that.
CB Mock Deadline - Minnesota Timberwolves
Kemba Walker / Tyus Jones / Aaron Brooks
Jimmy Butler / Jamal Crawford / Treveon Graham
Rodney Hood / Nic Batum / Marcus Georges Hunt
Taj Gibson / Nemanja Bjelica / Jonas Jerebko
KAT / Derrick Favors / Cole Aldrich
Picks - 2018 CHA 1st (Lotto protected), none out

The pick. I don't see any possible way that we beat Golden State, so even if we won tonight and ended up beating the Cavs, it wouldn't lead to a title. That number two pick could potentially help us win multiple titles.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Thanks for putting 'both' as it is the easy option and I am baffled why others didn't choose 'both', maybe they are not as greedy as me. If I had to pick pick one it would be a win in game 2 as that puts so much pressure on the Cavs and will create self doubt for them. I am happy with the squad for next season so a number 2 pick, while desirable, is not required.

I always hate the 'both' option in polls because, other than a few people who are concerned about the luxury tax coming too soon (pick this year hurts this), everybody obviously wants both to happen.

In this case, the #2 pick has much greater long term return than winning tonight - that's why so many people aren't selecting 'both.'

Because choosing which one is more exciting means, like, making a choice.

I picked the Cavs game.  Didn't we get smoked pretty bad after winning the lottery last year?

Pick was more important last year.  This year I want Lebron's throat if it's their for the taking.
Yup

So I chose "both"...yeah, I'm greedy, but after losing Hayward in five minutes, combined with all the "luck" the Celtics have had over the years, it's about [dang] time we saw something good happening to this team.
