With the new Rondo stories that came out, it's already shaping up to be that Kyrie is the most stable voice at point guard for the last 10 years with the Cs. I know it's early in his time in green, but it's hilarious to me that the flat-earth troll is already less divisive than the last two players at this position. Rondo was only beloved during the Big3 era, and even they didn't love him very much apparently. Isaiah, from day 1, had skeptics within the fan base; and always had some drama regarding contract, calling out coaches, trashtalking opponents.
For all his weaknesses and strange (non-basketball) comments, Kyrie is at least a stable figure. Just goes out and plays, with the occasional cheesy movie in there. At least for now....
I don't care if armchair GMs here thought IT was more of a 6th man or not worth the max IT was looking for, but in that locker room and on that court, IT was a massive stabilizing force who's sheer will got us into the playoffs 2 years in a row before getting Horford and then having one of the greatest offensive seasons by any player in Celtic history.
The 2 1/2 years IT was here we had a very stable PG situation. Just as good or more so than the one Kyrie has provided this year by Kyrie
I don't know what has changed in your daily routine, but the recent posts about IT, Lillard, etc. have been beautiful.
I always liked IT. Check my old posts, I always defended him when people called him just a sixth man or not worth a max contract. IT deserves a lot of respect from Celtics fans for his play here. He was the reason we went to three straight playoffs and the ECFs.
I still like the trade for Kyrie and am not crazy about some stuff IT said about the team after he left, but when he was here, he was the heart and soul of this team and extremely stable. Saying otherwise, I think, is fake news.
I know you did. And I agree on all counts.
