from what I understand if 4 players miss three consecutive games the Cs can apply for a medical hardship exception granting them an extra roster spot. However as soon as a player returns from injury that extra roster spot is lost. With Hayward and Theis out and likely Smart this will likely come down to how long the Cs think Brown will be out. If he misses extended time the Cs may need to bring in a player on a ten day contract. Maybe bring back Jarell Eddie?
I wasn't aware of that, good to know. They definitely need a defender and a big man. They can always use shooting but loss of Smart/Theis are the big ones here.
Kinda doubt the Celtics could get any injury relief that includes Hayward as the already got the injured player exception for him. Can't see the league allowing a double dip of salary relief for one player.
