With the slew of recent injuries, I'd like to discuss roster options and what the Celtics can do here moving forward to help.

I know the Celtics still have roughly $3 million in cap space. Who are people discussing? Are there any rumors out there?

I've seen Samuel Dalembert's name thrown around.  Would think Popeye Jones is the most obvious replacement for Theis.

We don't have any open roster slots though.  Would you cut Nader or Yabusele to sign one of those guys?

from what I understand if 4 players miss three consecutive games the Cs can apply for a medical hardship exception granting them an extra roster spot. However as soon as a player returns from injury that extra roster spot is lost. With Hayward and Theis out and likely Smart this will likely come down to how long the Cs think Brown will be out. If he misses extended time the Cs may need to bring in a player on a ten day contract. Maybe bring back Jarell Eddie?

I wasn't aware of that, good to know.  They definitely need a defender and a big man.  They can always use shooting but loss of Smart/Theis are the big ones here.

this is the worst time to be suffering these injuries....hopefully we get some good news on Smart and he can return. we really need him in the playoffs if we are to compete and make it to the ECF.

still, 15 games to get healthy enough

Bogut and T. Allen would be nice stopgap options.

If the Cs get the hardship roster spot I wouldn't be surprised to see them give a couple of games to one of the players on the red claws. Maybe even Anthony Bennett.
