Might be the only good sign but that’s a very very good sign

And his body seemed to tense up

The stiffening of the arms that seemed to happen is a tell tale sign of a concussion you see in the NFL too often.

I am so happy he got up under his own power.  I had that same sinking feeling from the Hayward play.

Unfortunately, he should not have gone to the rim on the play really.  He was moving so fast it was impossible for him to hold the rim (or at least hard to) and if you let go of the rim on that play, as we saw, you are pretty much done for.  Man hated seeing that.

He has to learn the TMac quick two-hand throw-down (barely touching rim). Hanging on the rim is a recipe for disaster. Not the same level at all, but I broke my elbow in high school by hanging on the rim after a dunk. I get it if you are in traffic and not really moving, but Jaylen was running full-speed which is olympic-level speed.

I am glad he made it off the court on his own and hope he can get back to 'normal' soon. If we thought it looked scary, just imagine how he felt.

That looked horrible. I had a similar fall last summer on a trampoline and thought I might've broken my neck or back, but thankfully I was unscathed. Hopefully Jaylen is too.

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

Concussion protocol, going to the hospital for tests. He's probably out a couple weeks.

Yeah it's definitely tricky.  I can dunk but I rarely do much because I am so wary of these kinds of plays in my experience as well.  I saw a friend actually tear his ACL, then in a second incident his MCL, on plays where he dunk and got hurt coming down so I always look out for it.

Hayward's injury was on a finish at the rim as well.

Hopefully it's not a season-ending injury.

Regardless, rest him until the postseason.

Season ending?? oh man it didn't look like that.  He was walking off on his own.
Sure looks like a concussion though.  Either way he will be out for a while.

At first it looked career ending, but upon closer inspection it was only his head that smacked the floor. He didn't fall on his neck, and this thread's title should be changed to reflect that.

Yeah at first it looked horrible.  It may be that he dodged a bullet a bit.  Wishing the best for Jaylen.  My fav celtic.
