I'm with you Gorman...enough already. I was done 3 days after the trade when it really sank in that we had a top notch PG who just won a title and he's 25.

For some reason IT and Crowder believe they won a few titles and put the Celtics on the map. To be honest it was the other way around. They were average players before Ainge and Stevens gave them the room to blossom. Yes, recruiting Horford and Haywood was key...but what no one talks about is the big fish got away...KD. Imagine if Haywood and Kyrie recruited KD, you think he would be in GS right now...nope. The Celtics didn't have enough talent, but they played hard. Ainge went and got more talent. Both of them are on a good team...good for them...stop whining. The Cavs are built for this year...the Celtics are built for years to come.

I agree with Gorman, not you.

Gorman's quotes:

Quote
I’m kind of tired with Isaiah, to be honest with you, He was a great player in the time that he spent with us — certainly had a year that was almost unmatched by anybody last year. But whether or not he ever speaks to Danny Ainge again, I don’t care. I really don’t care.

...

I just want to see how he performs on the basketball court. It’s almost like People magazine now. ‘Is he going talk to him? Is Danny going to respond to him? What will happen here? What will happen there? Will I get a tribute?’ Like just go off into the sunset gracefully, and we’ll see you in the playoffs.

...

It was a great two and a half years. Take nothing away from the kid’s performance. He was unlike almost anybody we had ever seen, especially in the fourth quarter of games last year. He had a remarkable run, but it was one year.

...

“You’re talking about probably the most talked about franchise in the history of almost any sport, right there with the Yankees. I’m just tired of it.”

...

I don’t think they would[play the tribute on Pierce's night]. I don’t know for a fact, but if I were in the room and had a vote, I would say no. That’s Paul Pierce’s day. Paul Pierce spent up-teen years here, not two.

TP. Just posted this in another thread. I think it’s a bold statement when even Gorman is commenting on it now.

I agree IT should have just had them run the video tonight. Also he could have just played tonight and not yesterday.

Mike Gorman is a great guy and his T&R interviews are always fun.

TP. Absolutely agree.

I hope he realizes February 11, MORE consideration will go to Paul Pierce.

Still, it irks me that he couldn't just have his family fly over to watch the tribute video tonight, even if he was hell bent on not playing tonight...  >:(

Agree with Gorman on being "tired" of all this IT drama. Isaiah also doesn't look that good tweeting out so much about the Celtics this past week (ripping some fans/haters, etc.)

No problem...we said the same thing in a different manner.

Agree with Gorman.  IT had an amazing year last year but this was a moment where he could have risen above it - accepted the video tribute - and instead we have to see this drama unfold for another 2 months.

IT CAN KISS MY butt.  Sick of his temper tantrum antics even when he was here.  He hogged the ball, slowed other players progression as a result and got 0 titles for it.  Wouldn't  to do a [dang] thing for him or that ingrate crowder.  Celtics made them, not the other way around!

Ya I'm totally over IT. I'm glad he helped net Horford and Hayward, but that's it. Celtics almost went 3 straight years getting bounced in the first round with IT at the helm. If it wasn't for Rondo getting injured, and KO's heroics in Game 7, the team likely would've been swept in the first round last season.

I can't see him being the best player on a championship team.

I'll give IT a pass.  He loved being a Celtic and he had a rough year in non-basketball ways...
He's not perfect, but oh well..

the club is sucking up to IT too much to suit me ,  letting him pick a day for a tribute ....SMH.....I guess is all about appearance .....how FA will view his trade and time at Boston.

he playd hard and gave his all .....as all players should
Im I really ready to end the IT chapter.   Move on with the Iring era.

Gotta blame the media for this too - in a sense.

They keep asking him these questions which leads him on.

We all should know by now that IT doesn't mince words.

TBH the ONLY way we're going to silence IT (and the media) is to GET BY CLE in the POST-SEASON..

It can be done - either by attrition (waiting until LeBron starts to slow down OR CLE breaks up), OR - ideally - by simply beating them in the post-season.

I'll give Danny much credit - as much as I miss IT he's constructed this team with a 5-7 year or even longer window.

Man up, settle in, circle the wagons, and BEAT CLE (and IT). It's as simple as that. He's NOT going to mince his words OR thoughts.
