I loved IT when he was here and if healthy, if Danny would have kept him, I would have had zero problem with IT getting a 4 year max. But he wasn't healthy and was traded. Thanks forthe good times Isaiah.

The trade....I always liked, especially after hearing how bad ITs hip was. To Kyrie we were going to have to give up the Brooklyn pick or the LA pick. Looks like Danny kept the right one.

As for IT since he has been traded....you know, Isaiah, be a professional and concentrate on being a Cav and stop whining about Boston. Especially don't expect a tribute or try to tell the Cs when to have one. Pretty egotistical of you. Now I hope you never get more than a standing ovation tonight.

I am in complete agreement.

It has honestly changed my perception of the dude a bit.

I am honestly starting to think we should just skip the whole video thing.

I have never in my life heard of a player saying "don't do it this game, do it that game", particularly when 'that game' should be 100% about Paul.

I started going "whaaaa" when he became demanding of the brinks truck.

Then I started losing respect for him when he said the Celtics FO betrayed him blah blah.

Now I hate the man with all of his whining, crying, and ego esp on Twitter. Anyone who follows LeBron James becomes that type of person.

Also, let's not forget who lured Gordon Hayward here the most- Brad Stevens and the pride of the Celtics fans...not Isaiah Thomas himself.

Isaiah Thomas on return to Boston: "I almost walked that way in their locker room. No, I love this city, I love this organization. They've given me the opportunity to be who I always wanted to be ... Like I always said, it's genuine love. And that's for the rest of my life here."

Let the guy have his year of bitterness...it's out of love.

I admit I'm tired of hearing about it but I don't put that on Isaiah. That's on the media machine that wants everything to be a soap opera. I don't mind Isaiah feeling anything he's felt or, mostly, saying anything he's said.

The one thing IT said that bothered me was when he implied the Celtic medical staff misled him about his injury. There's no call for that crap.

the club is sucking up to IT too much to suit me...

You're not the intended audience. Irving is the intended audience. Hayward, Horford, Smart...

I'll give IT a pass.  He loved being a Celtic and he had a rough year in non-basketball ways...
He's not perfect, but oh well..

TP.

Broken teeth.....ripped up hip...........dead sister....he played through it all, to his own detriment.  Heart as big as Russell and Cowens and Bird and Pierce.........Huge.

Lotta love in that big heart....lotta pain too....unrequited love..it is that female dog.

Loved being a C, the fans, his teammates, the city.....and we would not be in the position that we (the franchise) are in today if it wasn't for him and what Danny was able to do because of him.

Given all of the above, IT is entitled to be angry, and....... for awhile. The more you love, the more you hurt, right?

If IT wasn't injured and played from the start of this season, this anger would've dissipated a while ago, like it's starting to now.

Agree completely.

To distill it down, IT is catching a lot of crap because he cared too much....and still does.

Give me a friend, give me a player like that EVERY time, and I'll take the baggage that goes along with the passion and loyalty and devotion the he brings as wells the anger he might feel (rightly or wrongly) about being betrayed.

All the best, IT....EXCEPT against us. Hope the Brinks truck rolls up to your door, just not at our expense

This is a great post, and I should have heeded it.

After hearing that he and Ainge talked, that impressed me on  Isaiah's part.

For one last time I underestimated him.

All love for Isaiah and Crowder from me. No need for faux outrage from the media. They don't represent the fans, the people. I'm on Isaiah and Crowder's side, the media will never sway me. Everyone makes mistakes, everyone is human and miscommunications happen. In a year or two nobody will remember any tension or whatever. We will only remember the good times and all they gave for the team and the city.

Very disappointing of Gorman.  I think the disconnect with some people is that they are being asked questions by the media.  They are just answering them.  I think these people also want athletes to be open with the media usually and also they want them to be honest.  IT was praised for these things while here.

When you are hurt, things don't change for you.  All IT can do is rehab and deal with the media asking him questions and his situation.  It's his life experience.

For me, the media response to Crowder and IT in some cases and the fans (at least on Twitter for what that's worth) have been very disappointing.

I am kind of blindsided by it in a way.  I thought maybe hey if the team was awful I could see it (bitter fans).  But the Celtics are doing really well.  But then I think it is clearly the very bad side to some Boston fans and the Boston media is all I can say.  Seeing Gorman dabble with it though is definitely blindsiding and a let down for me.

Sorry, but no. Just because you're being asked something doesn't mean you have to answer it. And even if you choose to answer, there are more than one ways to do it.

But even if we ignore that fact...

No-one asked Thomas to wear the stupid brink sandals.
No-one asked Thomas to write for the Player's Tribune.
No-one asked Thomas to make that idiotic reenactment video.

That was all him. He choose to do all of it, unprompted. Sorry, bro, but if you're going to act like a self-absorbed prick, you gotta face the music.

What is wrong with what Gorman said? Honestly? He didn't rip Isaiah. He said he's sick of the drama and all that people magazine bull and that ultimately IT wasn't here Lon enough to compare to a legend like Pierce.

He's right in both regards.

As for the media stuff. That's total bull. IT chose to make the statements he made. Half of them came without reporters even present via the "book of Isaiah" and the players tribune. The stuff that he did say in interviews he could have easily avoided saying.

I agree with all this. I still love the guy.

However, Gorman is still right. I'm tired of hearing about it.

His comments since the trade have caused me tooose respect for the guy. Those things aren't mutually exclusive in my book.
