He's a no-brainer HOFer.

Not once while watching Ben play did I say, wow what a special player.  Awards aren't everything as well as records themselves in his era of play. Because the East was weak and lots of awards to some players were very questionable.

I'm thumbs down on Wallace as a HOF

Bball ref has him at 45%

For comparison, Ginobili is at 20%, Joe Johnson at 50% and P. Gasol at 93%.

Bball ref's model takes into account things like rings, leaderboards, stats etc but it obv leaves out subjective stuff - for example Ginobili might be favoured for coming from a non-North American country.

Personally, I'd like to see Wallace in, but it's a coin toss rn.

I would suggest that this says more about how you watch basketball than it does about Ben Wallace.

4x DPOY, anchor of the greatest defense of the 21st century and one of the greatest defenses of all time.

I think Csfan1984 might have been focusing on 1 half of the court a little too much.

Hes got to get in.

One of, if not the most impactful defensive players of the 21st century.

What... game 4 Shaq got shut down of the playoffs. Dikembe said himself that Wallace was one of the most infuriating defenders, because he could shut you down and get in your head..

It's amazing people can't respect someone like Wallace.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply

Only single player to shut down Shaq in his prime is Kobe

Agreed.

For someone to impact the game defensively like he did it would be a shame if he did not get in.

Yeah, he's not a lock, but he should be a Hall of Famer. Stats don't speak to his presence on the court. He was dominant inside.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.
