One of the Durant fouls was on the play that they actually reviewed giving the ball to Golden State instead of Cleveland.  That seems like an area that can be improved in replay i.e. not making it a foul, but certainly could have said oops we missed a foul so Cleveland gets the ball on the out of bounds instead of Golden State (since the play was reviewed for other reasons anyway so they don't even have to review fouls).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

I haven't seen fans around here crying out that Lebron got mugged on the way to the rim at the end of that game. I think there are many instances in which he is fouled and doesn't get the call. This happens to every NBA player, but more so to Lebron because people can't stop him.

Anecdotally I play in a men's basketball league and get fouled a decent amount (as well as divvying out a decent amount of "handcheck type" fouls b/c I lack lateral quickness). I got hammered recently with an elbow to the head and wanted to go through the roof. I actually think these guys maintain their composure quite well. I would end up getting kicked out of games and fined if I did what I'm sure many want to do.

Re: replay: I'm ok expanding replay, though I'm gun shy of making the end of any NBA game even slower. It is frustrating to me when the last 2 minutes of a game seem to take 15 minutes. It slows down a fast game, and almost makes the result anti-climatic.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Not that this thread is about replay but part of it is broken.  I agree with van gundy who said that refs used to have the power to make up a foul call by giving the ball to the offensive player.  I clearly remember an instance many years ago when a defender complained that the ball he swiped at went out on the offensive player.

The refs response? “You want a foul insteqad?”

I also agree with Van Gundy when he highlighted the fact that the point of the replay rule is to get the call correct, but what is the point if you aren't allowed to get the call actually correct when reviewing the play?
