I like Marcus Morris. He can make some shots. And we needed that. He will probably look for a hefty pay-raise once his contract is up, and he looks to be earning it. So again, probably another good player we're going to have to let walk. Just enjoy the 2 years of bargain basement labor. He looks to be outperforming his contract by a good margin so far!
I'm thinking he will get Evan Turner type money from somebody! At that point I'll just thank him for his contributions and wave goodbye! There will be some other vets who want to sign for the exception to join a winning team and maybe boost their FA value in 2 years time.
Think about it...a player is making $5,000,000/year and he's considered bargain basement labor. I'm not saying it's wrong. It's just incredible!
Don't believe he'll get Evan Turner money from any team. There are a lot of good players out there. Plus, he'll be 30 years old when his new contract begins. Perhaps, he'll be offered a contract for double his current salary for 2 or 3 years.
Then again, if Hayward comes back healthy next season it might cut into his playing time and possibly reduce his future value.
He sure is
a lot better than I thought he'd be. He can shoot, rebound and defend. His passing is good, not great. As for dribbling, he doesn't do a lot of it. Tough to say how good his handle is. Hope he has a good stay here in Boston.
