Monk, I've had nearly the same experience.  And if I can't express it here, who the heck am I going to complain to?  As you stated, non-Cs fans tend to... care not.

Green, I couldn't agree more about the bar that IT set, and I just want the same accomplishments to be met.  A guy like Kyrie has always gotten the accolades, but IT did not... and I'd just like to see them compared equally in the end.

wayupnorth, I've largely appreciated the guys that have come through Boston.  Some of my favorite Celtics were Delonte West and Nate Robinson, with an affinity for guys that overcome personal issues.  IT was a godsend in that regard.  I also acknowledge that Kyrie lost his mother when he was young though, and I'm sure that was horrible over the years.

Pretty much how I felt.

I think that's kind of why I stopped judging other bloggers here, except when I'm being sarcastic, (which people can never tell lol.)

After LaBrd and BBallTim left, I think I realized that alienating other users for their own opinions was stupid on my part. Although, there are some users here that VOLATILITY just TROLL just to tick people off, and those that have done so, aren't even worth responding to, in my book.

Anyways, I wanted to post this thread, because I have faith in KI. Just like I once had immeasureable faith in IT, Pierce, Rondo, KG, etc.

Once a Celtic... Always a Celtic in my eyes...

IT will never be forgotten, but I'm ready for KI to step it up. I know his accolades and his flashy game doesn't impress others, but I think Irving is really trying his best to turn a new leaf. Even if you hate him, you gotta at least give him a chance. I really do think we have something special here.

After the 4-6th winning streak, I was thinking in my head negatively unfortunately..... "Just a fluke! Doesn't mean anything! Hayward is out, boo-hoo!"

But these Celtics are scrappy too, and they certainly got some heart. It would've been SO EASY TO JUST roll over and die, because of the Hayward incident, but man oh man... These Celtics are surprising the heck out of me.

Anyways... TP to all who posted in the thread.

It's based on your perspective, quite simply
We're the same and we're not; know what I'm saying? Listen
Son, I ain't better than you, I just think different

My favorite moves are the completely unnecessary ones.  Those are definitelyyy the cutest.
didnt you say that you wanted to like Irving? or that you were gonna try to give him the benefit of the doubt?

turns out that was a load of BS wasnt it?

Yeah, instead he is just going to continue to troll people who really enjoy Kyrie, because he is salty his boy IT just isn't as good, and Danny made a heck of a trade.

Kind of sad.

You used to jam the TP button on my posts.  Try to be more open-minded.  I'm not trolling any one.  I continue to give him his credit, while also expressing dissatisfaction with his unnecessary dribbling, ridiculous and childish PR activities, and decision to wear mittens following a professional athletic contest.

Danny overpaid.  Yes, the trade long-term will be good for the Celtics.  But he overpaid.  There's zero evidence to indicate that Kyrie is the better player.  I'm sorry that this is difficult for you.  We can keep going back and forth, though.  As long as you try to be a bit more open-minded.
overpaying and making a move that is good long term seem like mutually exclusive things.

Especially given Thomas's injury.

I have every right to hate the heck out of Kyrina Irving.

Yes, yes you do.

And while this gives no one here the right to attack you, just don't be surprised if very few here respect your hatred of Kyrie.

It's painfully obvious it's purely for sentimental reasons (Thomas), and a college rivalry (Duke).  It's annoying, childish behavior, and at times is does border on trolling.

If you want to hate Kyrie for these reasons, go ahead.  Just know that it could reach a point where it goes beyond 'normal'.  Many seem to feel you've already reached that point.  Take of that what you will, it's your prerogative.

Cool.  I'm okay if some don't respect my perspective.  Also cool with favoring one guy over another for sentimental reasons (though the Duke connection doesn't matter to me).  People  feel feelings.  Honestly, possibly even men.

It's not trolling.  If you find it distasteful/childish/annoying, I assure you that I won't attempt to force you to read it.

And i'm sure many do believe that.  That's cool.  I'm sure there are others that also strongly dislike Kyrie, and others who appreciate a back-and-forth without mud slinging.

Ironically, this kind of divide is probably best for Kyrie's image at the moment, at least until he proves to be the man in Boston.  Take of that what you will, it's your prerogative.
