This game is going to get ugly now. It's going to take a while for the C's to figure things out.  Totally surreal injury.  Last thing I would ever have expected.

The team looks deflated.

We need to get to halftime so we can regroup. They will need to quickly come to terms with it.

Praying for Gordon and a (quick) and full recovery.

When the Celtics complain about a call, they get a tech.

It's just weird.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

  • GOT IT!!!
Guys......I saw teddy Bridgewater go down last year
year.

It sucked, but the team never gave up that year and neither should Boston.

Lost of season to go. The Cavs are not younge and this season is going to be long on those old bones.

C's just got to keep fighting all 82.

They won't give up. Expectations have been cut out from underneath them though.

Cleveland is NOT impressing me tonight. Celtics just missing shots and lost some fire from what happened.
Let's Go Celtics!!

Like we didn't get screwed enough with the Hayward injury, the refs continue to give every single call to Cleveland. Wouldn't expect anything else.  ::)

EDIT: 12-6 on fouls; 12-2 on free throws.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Brazilian broadcasters are saying Hayward is still in the locker room. Has this info been confirmed? What does it mean? Super complex injury and risks for the transportation to the hospital? Surprisingly less relevant?
Means nothing unless they expect him to get carted to the hospital through the arena. Also newsflash: he isn't coming back to the bench, in case they wondered.

Isn't it normal do get players to the hospital as soon as possible in cases like that? If it were a open fracture or something as such, he would need surgical intervention asap

I still think we win this game. The Cavs don't look very good, and our guys will settle down. Our players are already starting to show some fire.

That's probably not a bad thing for the younger players at least, to have some of the expectation taken away.

As one door closes for one player, another one may open for others who are willing to take the opportunity.

I don't know when I have been this excited about a season and an opening game.  Hayward's injury took the wind out of my sails and apparently out of his teammates sails as well, at least for tonight.  Tomorrow is another day.  The challenge is bigger but hopefully our players have the character to step up and fight.  We still have a very solid and fun team.  Tonight's game may be over but the season is not.  As much as this sucks right now we still have a lot to look forward to.

My thoughts are with Gordon Hayward and I wish him well with his recovery regardless of how long it takes or if/how it impacts his career.  His health and comfort is more important than basketball.

All the call discrepancy, and I ain't even mad. That Hayward injury got my energy drained.
