I don't really think there is any meat behind the report someone shared earlier that "people inside Lebron's camp wanted the deal to get nixed." However, now looking at the offseason on a hole do you think Lebron is pretty frustrated how this offseason went?

The offseason began with dreams of upgrading Kevin Love to Paul George or Jimmy Butler to play alongside Irving and Lebron. There was also a believe that the Warriors would be unable to keep their team together with Durant, Iggy and Livingstone all set to hit the market and lots of teams wanting to throw money at Iggy in particular.

What happened instead was the Cavs lost their GM and a trade that was agreed to that would have brought them George was reneged at the last moment.

Lebron then watched everyone resign in Golden State including Durant taking a significant pay cut.

Then despite Lebron recruiting Jamal Crawford and rumors of Carmelo Anthony or Wade joining the team, they ended up with Derrick Rose, Jose Calderon and Jeff Green's carcass off the scrap heap.

The second best player on the Cavs and Lebron's little brother, then demands a trade.
The Celtics close the gap by signing the most coveted free agent on the market in Hayward and then inexplicably land Irving in exchange for Crowder and possibly a very gimpy Isiah Thomas.

The Cavs are not viewed as a lock to make the Finals for the first time since Lebron returned to Cleveland, and if they get there would presumably have a stronger version of the Warriors team that smashed them last year waiting to play them.

Definitely a far cry from 2.5 months ago when there were dreams of getting a 4th star to join their big 3 or working magic to get Carmelo.

PS: Moranis you don't need to waste your time explaining why this was a dream offseason for the Cavs and everything worked out great. We know where you stand.

If Lebron's p*ssed, he should be p*ssed at himself. As much as I hate to say this, Cleveland played this trade correctly. Lebron won't commit to them beyond this season, they can't continue to build around him without some inclination he's staying. They've done that before and got burned.

I posted this elsewhere but, The Cavs should trade Thompson and Shump for Melo. The Cavs dump salary and go all in for this year with Melo.

This is when we will see how much of a true leader and an all-time great Lebron really is. Its easy to look great when everything is going your way, it is in such moments of difficulty that true greatness is revealed.

He might whine and mail it in, and if so, that will say a lot about who he is and the confidence he lacks in himself.

I think his frustration started building when payroll was trimmed and Griffin was let go.  I think Dan Gilbert was content with one championship, and that's going to irritate any athlete playing for his legacy.

It started when Durant signed with GSW and he realized they had no answer.

p---ed is a strong word but I'm sure he's agitated/frustrated at a handful of things and I'm sure he sees the writing on the wall that his time in CLE is just about up and its time to move on.

Yep. He may be p---ed but that move completely screwed the entire league. He's smart enough to realize that. That Cavs team last year was REALLY good.

Not sure what you are trying to say here. The Cavs are our biggest rival in the East right now and have repeatedly knocked us out of the postseason. If Lebron is angry with the Cavs and decides to leave (or better, pout this season) this could not be bigger news for the Celtics and Celtics fans.
(to say nothing of the fact that we just completed a trade with them). Your response of not understanding the relevance of Lebron and his feelings on staying and performing in Cleveland as  Celtics fan is baffling to say the least...

Why would the Knicks take on two bad contracts to move Melo? They would probably be better off cutting him than taking on those salaries.

This was never going to end happily, it was just a matter of when it finished.

If you are Lebron you have every right to keep your options open going forward, but equally Dan Gilbert is well within his rights to say "Hey if you ain't gonna be here next year I'm not digging myself a huge hole to please you today". He has to think about the long term health of his team.

Can I ask you to please upgrade your account to allow 3rd party hosting so we don't have to look at that graphic forever? If you need a graphic link send it to me and I will host it for you so I can stop seeing that.  ;D
